Fourteen is the awkward number. Bigger than the standard 12-person family booking, smaller than the round-to-16 friend group. The groups that land here are usually two families plus the grandparents, or seven couples on a slightly indulgent weekend.

Configuration matters more than usual at fourteen. Seven doubles is a couples’ house. Five doubles plus four singles is a family house. Same headline number, very different propositions.”
