Wardhill Castle, a magnificent stronghold that has stood as a sentinel over the Aberdeenshire landscape for over 900 years. Dating back to the 12th century, Wardhill is one of the oldest privately owned estates in North-East Scotland and has been the cherished home of the Leslie family for nearly a millennium. The castle’s storied walls have witnessed centuries of Scottish history, evolving from a modest fortified home into the grand turreted structure you see today. Each generation has left its mark, with additions and restorations reflecting the changing tastes and fortunes of the family. The oldest sections date to the medieval times, with Georgian and Victorian influences layered into its architecture and interiors over the centuries.
With 8 beautifully decorated bedrooms, many in-house and external activities and options to tailor your trip with Butlers, chefs, and experiences, Wardhill provides the perfect setting for your next trip.

We have our own in-house activities, from archery, stalking, simulated stalking, foraging, whisky experiences, coffee experiences, bushcraft and an in-house Masseuse.
Other activities include, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, falconry, highland games (Strongman). Historical Sword fighting, and many more.
We can also add butlers and chefs to make your trip extra special.
We are surrounded by some of the best Golf Clubs in Scotland, Including Cruden Bay, Royal Dee, Trump International, Elgin.
There are a lot of castles, in the area, including Craigevar, supposedly the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Cinderellas Castle.
We are surrounded by woodland, and serene Scottish landscapes.

Wardhill has been occupied by the same family since 1080. One of which has starred in the very popular TV show, Game Of Thrones, and was married here.
