Absolutely amazing, 20 of us for a family get to gether. House is more than big enough for 20 adults big lounges, games room was fun for everyone. Spotlessly clean everywhere and very well maintained. Thanks for a weekend to remember

We had a great weekend at this house We all loved it. Well set up for a large group ranging from aged 5 to 80. It rained the whole weekend but found plenty to do inside the house with its excellent facilities.

We catered for a lovely family at this beautiful manor home, Which was magnificently beautiful on the inside with large tables and beautiful grounds.

We had this beautiful house for the weekend it was beautiful the house was every thing and more with its breathtaking views every detail was thought of to make your stay the perfect experience thank you

Tatham House catered so well for our party of 20. A beautiful property with plenty of space and tastefully decorated. Each bedroom was spacious and had an en-suite bathroom. The children loved the cinema room, games room and heated pool. The adults enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor setting. We were very lucky with the weather so we spent most of the time in the beautiful garden and playing outdoor games. The staff at The Big House Company were brilliant and helpful. We were able to contact them whenever I needed to.

What a fantastic home. Everything you need is there. We were a family of 17 and still room to spare. Not cramped at all. Kids loved the heated pool and the adults loved the hot tub and everyone enjoyed the cinema room. Ping pong, snooker and the table football were we used. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.

Wow what amazing place. Everything was immaculate and in good order. Great for large family get togethers. Very safe and secure for children

Can’t fault the Big House Company … from the point of booking, everyone I dealt with has been friendly, helpful and flexible. Our original booking landed in one of the early lockdowns and had to be postponed – the Big House Co. gave us options and were very helpful finding us a new date.

Almost 2 years in the waiting and we finally got to our stay at Tatham House (for an extended family gathering). Communication leading up to our stay was excellent with the team making sure bedrooms were configured as we required. Very clear info was given for check-in day and we were met by one of the team to be shown around the house.

The house itself was brilliant and I would highly recommend for a multi-generational stay. There were 15 of us with masses of space and options to keep us entertained (swimming pool, hot tub, tennis court, games rooms, cinema room, quiet rooms, etc.). As well as the huge indoor space, the gardens were massive and beautifully looked after – loads of space for children to safely run around.

We used one of their recommended caterers (Arabella Tindall) whilst there who was excellent.

When it sadly came time to leave, Storm Eunice was in full swing and again The Big House Company showed their small company flexibility … re-arranging cleaners so that we could stay an extra night and avoid travelling during one of the worst storms in 30 years.

We look forward to a return visit and I would highly recommend the Big House Company.

Great place to stay very clean and welcoming

We booked Tatham House for my dad’s 80th family birthday weekend. There were 22 of us ranging from 1 to 80yrs.The house was absolutely beautiful inside; each bedroom and bathroom was individually designed to a very high standard. The shared space was perfect for our large party, we could all fit around the table to eat together and the kitchen was very well equipped. The games room and cinema room is the basement provided hours and hours of fun. That along with the indoor swimming pool, tennis court and spa meant most of the group didn’t actually leave the house for the whole weekend as there was too much to do. A few of us walked into Bishop’s Lydeard and found the Quantock Brewery where we sampled a few of their local beers. The village also had a CooP which was very convenient, A fantastic weekend was had by all and has left us with amazing memories.

Tatham House was a great location for a get together with family and friends. Very comfortable, lots of space and wonderful facilities.

The house was everything you could wish for. Wonderful grounds and great facilities. Nice and near to shops and good walks.

We have stayed in most of the Big House Co. houses and love them all. After a weekend stay in 2018 we booked for Christmas week 2019 and were absolutely delighted with the accommodation. Each bedroom has an en suite and is beautifully decorated. The beds are large, comfortable with good quality linens and super soft, fluffy towels. The kitchen is large and practical with all the cooking equipment needed for all the family who enjoy feasting each evening. The number of tableware, glasses, cutlery etc. is plentiful and the 2 dishwashers mean that clearing up is easy and practical. The dining room is roomy and comfy with beautiful views across the gardens and countryside. 3 sitting rooms allow for a large group gatherings or smaller quieter groups to chat and play games. The games rooms and cinema room were constantly used by young and old but along with the indoor pool and the outdoor hot tub, there was never a dull moment and the children in our group were happy and busy the whole week. We just loved it at Tatham and would like a summer stay to make more use of the beautiful outside seating areas, bbq and large gardens. Thank you Big House Co.

We had 21 people for a stag weekend and Tatham House exceeded our expectations on every front. The house is immaculate throughout, from furnishings, to fixtures & fittings, to en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. Masses on entertainment on site – great pool, tennis court, hot tub, cinema room, pool, table tennis, etc. And a fantastic dining room. We brought in Blackdown Dining (local firm) to cater for us, who were superb and topped off the perfect weekend. Organisation of the weekend by The Big House Co. was slick and problem-free. Thoroughly recommended.

This house is the perfect setting for a large group celebration break. We were a party of 15 celebrating a milestone birthday. I always feel the pressure of organising something like this to ensure that everyone is happy. From the website this appeared to tick all of our boxes but in reality it was a dream. From the outset peter at the big house company went out of his way to help. The website was very helpful also in getting a good feel for all of the rooms. We were all couples and all of the rooms were amazing, it was impossible to chose a best one for the birthday boy, they were all nice. Lovely big beds, lots of mirrors and wardrobes. All were en suite, some with baths and some with great walk in showers. Some of the bathroom fixtures were also very grand which just added to the touch of luxury. The weather was hideous when we were there but this did not matter as the entertaining areas were great. The basement kept the boys busy with pool tables, table tennis and billiards. The great cinema room should have hosted the best rugby World Cup final ever but sadly the result was the only thing to let us down :(. The three drawing rooms allowed us ladies to be very much to the manor born, playing games and reading. Some of us swam in the beautiful indoor pool and some of us just chilled. The large dining room easily seated us for dinner on both nights. The Saturday we had outside caterers in to cook us the banquet that a house like this deserves. Some did manage to use the hot tub despite the weather and that was a great bonus. My only regret was that the grounds were so stunning that the weather stopped us from fully enjoying them. Many sportsman amongst us would have made use of the football and tennis I am sure. I guess we will just have to return another time 🙂 The village is sweet with a nice pub and a co-op for top ups, but top tip we did have a Waitrose delivery on Friday night for all our essentials. I would highly recommend this house as the best I have ever booked and and I have booked a fair few over the years. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you all at the big house company.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tatham House. The decor, rooms, space grounds, pools and so much more made our family get together amazing. The orchard and grounds brilliant .

Lovely stay had here for a family reunion. We made use of the pool, the tennis court and the large kitchen for dining. There are lots of outdoor game items here to keep you and your party entertained. Beds are super comfy.

We enjoyed a brilliant week at Tatham House. The bedrooms were all fantastic with great bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with loads of china/cutlery/glassware but we would have liked a second sink and some more food/ vegetable storage. We would also have appreciated information on how to use some of the equipment generally. The pool, tennis court, cinema were all big hits with the family.

Wow! A fantastic few days away to celebrate the 40th birthdays of a few members of our group. What better way to do this than in this wonderful house?! Cleanliness, decor, space all 10/10 with the icing on the cake being the pool and hot tub. Pool and cinema room definitely a big hit with the kids in our group. Will definitely recommend. Thank you!

The house is situated in three acre grounds in open countryside with very easy access from the motorway, main roads and the coast. From the moment I walked in and was welcomed by Peter Insall, I knew that the venue was perfect to celebrate my milestone birthday with my nearest and dearest. The complimentary Champagne helped too! The house is fabulously equipped with everything you could possibly need to create a luxurious, relaxing break. The facilities are second to none! We played Board Games, puzzles, tennis, football, netball, basket ball, croquet, hide and seek, had a a Treasure Hunt, swam in the pool, relaxed in the Hot Tub, had a BBQ, watched films in the Cinema room, played table tennis, billiards, snooker, etc… The list was endless with activities for the very young to the not so young! Everyone was happy and relaxed, so definitely no complaints whatsoever! It certainly did not disappoint! If anything, it exceeded our expectations. A brilliant time was had by all. So much so, that they were very reluctant to leave! Very highly recommended!

Wonderful house in the Quantocks, Somerset. Our 18 guests here to celebrate our Golden Anniversary were "blown away" by the exceptionally high quality of all bedrooms and "wowed" by the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is particularly well equipped for a large group.They took full advantage of the splendid pool and games room. All staff very friendly and efficient right from booking to greeting on arrival. We used one of their recommended caterers-excellent. A memorable occasion complemented by the excellent Big House Company We rated the whole experience a "double wow!"

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary with all our family. Tatham House was perfect. Beautifully prepared for us and very well appointed. Plenty of things to keep everyone happy. Lovely dining area where we could all be seated around the dining table to enjoy meals together. Our Thanks to Peter and Anna, also Caroline who came to our rescue when we left a mobile phone at the house. Would highly recommend this property.

We stayed at Tatham House with our family. The kitchen and dining area are amazing, not only the high standard of design and equipment but also the best gorgeous entertaining table which was beautifully dressed for our arrival. The bedrooms are all finished differently and with many beautiful details and the beds are VERY comfortable. The linen used is of very high standard indeed. All around the house you could look out on a gorgeous well-kept garden. The pool was a great success with the children and again there were some really lovely design touches. My only reluctance is that is is quite close to a fairly busy road, but then, I am very sensitive to that

Yet again the Big House Company provided us with a superb house for our family to gather and enjoy fun, food and good times together. The house is amazing with 10 good sized bedrooms, all with en suites, large living rooms and a kitchen better equipped than home. The games rooms and cinema room were used by all at different times and the indoor pool and hot tub an extra exciting activity during our holiday. We ran out of time for a game of tennis and next time we are coming for longer to fit everything in. The grounds are beautifully kept and quality and plentiful patio furniture, make this a fabulous destination for the summer also. The dining room had an amazing table and plenty of space and where we spent most of our time catching up with family news and keeping the people cooking our meals company. Self catering is so much fun when the kitchen is so well equipped and crockery, cutlery and glasses were so plentiful. Bedrooms, bathrooms and the whole house are beautifully refurbished and the beds provide amazing sleep. We’ve booked again for a week next time. Thank you Big House co.

I highly recommend Tatham House and The Big House Company who we booked through. Peter was really great to deal with from the first contact, always responding quickly, and answering all our questions. As it was our first time organising a retreat, we visited the house a couple of times before the event and he was also very accommodating about that. The house itself is stunning, spacious, and luxurious. It is exactly as shown in the pictures and as described, and all our guests absolutely loved it. We did have one issue during our stay but this was resolved within a few hours by Peter and his team – we were so impressed. We will be going back next year. I would say, don’t hesitate to make your booking, you won’t regret it.
