River Wye Lodge is a lovely old country inn that has been turned into a hotel. It keeps its old-world charm while adding modern comforts, and the well-designed bedrooms on the property can fit up to 26 guests. It is right on the River Wye. There is a big kitchen, a dining room, a cosy bar area and a big lounge on the ground floor. There is also a helpful snug. When we designed the twin room, we thought a lot about how easy it would be for people with disabilities to get around. There is a wet room that is easy to get to in a wheelchair and two WCs that are also easy to get to.

The first floor has nine bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Two more bedrooms on the second floor can sleep four people and share a bathroom. Many of the bedrooms are located where you can see the river well, which makes them quiet places to get away from it all.

The entertainment options are especially good. People who want to work out can play pool, table tennis, or table football, or use a cross trainer in the games room. There is also a piano in the room for music. The outdoor areas are well-thought-out and include a terrace, a playground with wood chips, and a separate place to launch canoes. A hot tub is a great place to unwind.

Location and Things to Do

Located just a 5-minute drive from the Forest of Dean, guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. It’s a 10-minute drive to Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, Coleford, and Monmouth, where shopping and dining options await.

Just on the way home from a fab weekend with 4 generations of our family, 27 people in total. The lodge was perfect everywhere was spotlessly clean and everything we needed was supplied from every piece of kitchen equipment, crockery, and cleaning products you could ever want or need to comfortable bedrooms, games room and hot tub. It was a great place to just all be together. Thank you for making our weekend even more enjoyable. Highly recommend

A fantastic place to stay. We were there for a birthday party. There’s plenty of room for everyone in the bar. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. A lovely outlook onto the river Wye. We’ve stayed before and are very sad to leave.

Absolutely lovely pub. Helpful staff made it easy to book and coordinate information. All the guests were happy with the rooms – the majority of which had beautiful river views. The place is clean and well-appointed. Would definitely go back if I dared to organise such a large family group again!
