At Courtyard Cottages, everything is designed to bring people together—hosting up to twenty-five guests across ten bedrooms in two charming cottages set opposite one another around a shared courtyard, connected by a graceful archway.
Courtyard Cottages combines the Coach House and the Courtyard Cottage into one spacious, sociable retreat. Positioned face-to-face, the two properties offer the perfect balance: generous shared spaces for group moments, alongside quieter corners for privacy and relaxation.
The Coach House accommodates up to seventeen guests in seven bedrooms, including a convenient ground-floor room with an accessible wet room. Its impressive living space features twin refectory tables seating twenty-five, a range cooker, a wood burner, and doors opening onto a terrace with a barbecue—ideal for long, leisurely gatherings.
The Courtyard Cottage sleeps eight across three bedrooms and offers a more intimate atmosphere, with a characterful beamed drawing room, antique pine fireplace with iron stove, terracotta floors, and elegant bow windows. It also includes a private terrace with barbecue for relaxed outdoor dining.
The Courtyard Cottages are ideal for large family gatherings, milestone celebrations, and reunions—any occasion that brings up to twenty-five people together under one roof (or two). With a ground-floor bedroom and wet room, it’s also well-suited for guests with limited mobility. For even larger groups or those seeking complete privacy, exclusive hire of Upper Court can include the manor house and the Dovecote.
Courtyard Cottages, one of the accommodation options at Upper Court, offers far more than just a place to stay. Alongside spacious, sociable living, guests can enhance their experience with a range of thoughtful extras. Unwind in a hot tub, gather around the fire pit, or book time in the sauna for a more restorative escape. Catering options and private chefs are also available, making it easy to host relaxed meals or special celebrations without lifting a finger.
For something more hands-on, enjoy creative workshops on-site. Try a pottery session in the studio, where you’ll learn to shape and finish your own piece, or take part in printmaking, experimenting with techniques like etching and screen-printing. Both are beginner-friendly, informal, and ideal for groups wanting to spend time creating together.

Upper Court is ideally located for exploring the surrounding countryside and nearby towns. A range of welcoming village pubs are close by, with a wider selection of restaurants and bars in nearby Cheltenham.
There are excellent walking routes from the doorstep, including gentle lakeside paths, peaceful nature reserves, and climbs up Bredon Hill with far-reaching views. For longer outings, the Cotswold Way and surrounding villages offer some of the area’s most scenic trails.
