Talton House is the ideal fusion of contemporary luxury and Queen Anne architecture. It retains its historic charm while providing tasteful rooms. The nine-bedroom manor house successfully blends modern amenities with traditional features. It features a croquet lawn, an AstroTurf tennis court, a large hot tub, an HD movie snug, and a beautiful natural swimming pool up in the orchard by the Poolhouse.
The property’s nine exquisitely furnished bedrooms can accommodate up to 22 people. Five of the bedrooms have private bathrooms and the other 4 share 2 bathrooms. 4 extra singles fit easily into the larger bedrooms. There is a 10th optional extra ensuite double bedroom in the courtyard adjacent to the house, as well as the Poolhouse and Barn if you need extra accommodation. The kitchen is beautifully decorated and super well equipped with 2 dishwashers, a filtered water/boiler tap, 4 ovens and a microwave.
The main reception areas include a garden room bar giving on to the terrace overlooking the croquet lawn and flower borders, a cinema snug room, a drawing room with a grand piano and a big hall with giant skylight and wood burner, that has been used for parties, meetings, dining and yoga! The dining room, which can accommodate 20 people, flows naturally from the well-equipped kitchen. Other reception spaces are ideal for large gatherings. Each room has been thoughtfully designed to preserve the property’s historic charm while simultaneously making it cosy for contemporary living.
Formal gardens and natural areas that offer various spots to unwind and have fun are just two of the many ways to enjoy the outdoors on the property. Amenities like the wood fired hot tub, natural pool, tennis court and and movie snug demonstrate how well the property has blended contemporary comforts with its historic architecture.

Beautiful setting for a family weekend. We had 5 children and 6 grandchildren staying in the walled kitchen garden in yurts, tipis and cabins. the pool, which was one of the reason we booked, was lovely to swim in – at 14 degrees! The shower/loo rooms were well equipped with a towel and soap which was unexpected but welcome. The kitchen was well equipped, we even made a roast chicken dinner in it. We paid extra for a pizza night, the pizzas were delicious and they catered for the 2 children who couldn’t eat cheese. They even set up and cleared away for us, again unexpected but welcome. The weather was kind to us and the grandchildren loved the space to run around and play.

What a fantastic place for our small company of 15 people to gather and spend time together. The hosts were incredibly friendly and detailed in emails from the outset, the accommodation was a glorious combination of the luxurious and the downright quirky (but still lovely) and the house and gardens, in combination, were just idyllic. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, and there were many unexpected touches that proved the most memorable. The tug-of-war equipment and the dressing-up box were particular highlights!
Would do this all again, without question.

We visited with a mixed group for a joint Hen and Stag party for the weekend. Talton Lodge far exceeded expectations – an idyllic house, with well kept and beautiful grounds. Sophie and her team provided a beautiful dinner which really added the cherry on top. Highly recommend!

A group of 34 of us spent a team away day at Talton Lodge, and I can’t recommend the venue, location, team, setup, and service highly enough. The site is easily accessible from Moreton-in-Marsh station, yet feels wonderfully remote – ideal for a real escape. With multiple rooms, everyone had their own bed, and the giant tipi was perfect for both workshops and evening fun, including karaoke!
Barney and the team organised a fantastic lawn games tournament featuring croquet, ping pong, hockey, and boules. We were also treated to delicious pizza fresh from their pizza oven, followed by an incredible evening feast. Cocktail hour was a highlight too, with spicy margs and amaretto sours proving especially popular.
On Friday, we enjoyed a scenic 1 hour 20 minute walk to The Howard Arms in Ilmington for lunch. Overall, I couldn’t recommend Talton Lodge more – it’s a brilliant spot for a team getaway.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding weekend at Talton House and Talton Lodge! From start to finish, Barney, Olivia, and the entire team went above and beyond to make everything seamless. No request was ever too much trouble—they gave us the freedom to personalise every detail and truly make the celebration our own.
The food was absolutely amazing—so many of our guests are still raving about it—and the house and grounds were immaculate. The pool was a huge hit (especially in the heat!), and it was such a joy to have all our guests stay on site. From the beautiful rooms to the charming yurts with even space for camper vans, everyone felt welcome and part of something special.
The whole weekend felt magical, relaxed, and full of joy. The photos turned out stunning thanks to the gorgeous setting, and we are left with nothing but the happiest memories. Talton is a truly special place—we feel incredibly lucky to have celebrated there!

The venue is amazing with a natural pool and lots of activities. Bathrooms in the rooms would’ve been a plus and their dog wanders about. But it’s a great getaway weekend.

Stayed with work for a team building time away. What a marvellous location and venue. The hosts were incredible, the house is outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and we enjoyed yoga, canoeing and a treasure hunt. Highly recommended for work or a family gathering.

I booked the venue for a 50th birthday party with friends. The venue delivered exactly the relaxed festival vibe I was looking for. The site is beautiful, and a lot of care and attention clearly goes in to making it look that good. Pots, pans, mugs, cafetières and teapots are all provided. They even have champagne flutes! The kitchen is well equipped. The accommodation is comfortable and charming. We had the site to ourselves and it really felt like it was ours for the weekend. We were blessed by the weather, and therefore enjoyed playing ping pong and kubb, dipping in the beautiful pool, and drinking the odd refreshing beer on tap. In fact, it was so nice that our plans to go and visit the nearby national trust property went out the window, as we couldn’t imagine anything being nicer than just enjoying the sunshine in the beautiful kitchen garden.

Had an amazing few days for our corporate off-site. Such a great set up and so much better than the usual hotel/bland corporate retreat. Fantastic food, great accommodation and the pool is incredible.

Had an amazing few days for our corporate off-site. Such a great set up and so much better than the usual hotel/bland corporate retreat. Fantastic food, great accommodation and the pool is incredible. Huge thank you to all the team there. They are awesome. Highly recommend it. I think one of the team is now looking to book it for a big birthday bash in a few years.

We had our wedding at Talton Lodge in June 2022. It is an absolutely stunning venue with great accommodation options. One key reason we chose Talton Lodge is that you get use of the venue and accommodation for the whole weekend, meaning we could relax and enjoy time in the wonderful setting with our friends and family before and after the big day. The food on the day was delicious and the staff working the bar and service were very friendly. The owners, Barney and Olivia were helpful throughout the process, even when we had to postpone due to Covid. We loved the relaxed, laid back atmosphere and the two dogs (Ziggy and Zeb) were very friendly. We’re very happy we booked Talton Lodge for our wedding.

We celebrated a stag do here recently a month ago. Quite simply Olivia and Barney were just a pleasure to deal with. The grounds are epic, the food is awesome & the variety of drinks on offer was great. This was planned over the lockdown era, and they proved themselves to be very flexible & accomodating. Everyone gave a glowing review of their experience & I wouldnt rule out a 2nd event…….If they’d have us back, that is : )
Thanks Barney & Olivia

The house is beautiful and full of character, great for a mega family getaway. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean, it felt like we had a hotel to ourselves. We loved that the kitchen had lots of really big bowl s and cooking kit to feed as many people as can stay at the house, but a few things in the kitchen could be improved e.g. the dishwasher is very old and struggled a bit and with a large group staying it meant lots of washing up. Also there is a large dining table but not a big table outdoors so if the weather is nice and you want to eat outside as a group then it is a bit of a squish.

We held a residential 3 day business meeting at Talton House (our second visit) at the beginning of Sept (2020) and whilst adhering to Covid restrictions. Everything was organised brilliantly well to fully follow C-19 guidelines, keeping both us and the hosts, who couldn’t have been more welcoming, safe. The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful and lend themselves very well to a business meeting, having the necessary high speed internet, a large room to meet in and plenty of rooms for breakout meetings and all of the other paraphernalia we needed to be efficient. Highly recommend and what a treat it would be to visit for a special occasion with family and friends.
