A really peaceful haven.The house was very comfortable and the garden area was beautiful.North Berwick town and shops very near by.Seacliff beach and Tantallon castle was magical .A brilliant family holiday destination.

Fantastic house and garden, steeped in family history. Great place to stay to explore the North Berwick area, whether you’re playing golf or not.

What a delight. Set amongst the trees this walled garden house is a haven from the hustle and bustle of life. It’s quiet save for birdsong. Safe for the grandkids to run around. Close to the coast and North Berwick where you can indulge yourself with lobster and chips at the Lobster shack! Try it for yourself it, it’s worth it!

Stayed here mid winter for a blissful two days of relaxation, beach walks and great food. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

We found the house an ingenious mix, Georgian elegance with modern classic features and clever architectural surprises. An extremely comfortable and practical house with large kitchens and choices of sitting and eating areas decorated with style and humour. Situated within the stunning architecture and planting of the formal garden with its tall brick walls and immaculate lawns the large glazing on the house brings outside and inside together. Spectacular and yet supremely practical it is a treat of a house in which to dwell.

We were a group of 12 on a golf trip. The property is close to lots of golf and also has loads to do including tennis, darts and table tennis.

We enjoyed our family holiday at Leuchie, the garden and activities were a big hit with the children. The house, a fine example of mid 20th century modern architecture has been carefully updated. The contrast between the modern house with family pantings and furniture as striking. We look forward to returning!

A perfect property for a multi generation family holiday. The garden is enormous and beautiful. The house is stylish and classic modernist but with the feel of an old family home. Very comfortable and well equipped. We made good use of all the sporting and games facilities from the tennis court to the Wendy house! The location feels remote and peaceful. We saw buzzards, hares and bats. But it is only 5 minutes drive from a large Tesco. North Berwick is a charming small seaside town with a regular train to Edinburgh. Hew and George the gardener were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We would love to return.

An idyllic holiday to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with friends and family was made magical by our stay at Leuchie Walled Garden. The house was a base for 11 of us (it sleeps 12) to stay and then we hosted a celebration day with more family visiting and our celebration lunch was catered by Steve at Pop Catering. The house is delightful, beautiful and grand but comfortable and adaptable for all the different ages. The gardeners amongst us were in raptures over the walled garden, the mid century architecture was much admired and the games rooms were in constant use, as was the tennis court.

We have stayed in many gorgeous places but rarely does one get the opportunity to stay in what is clearly a much loved home with extraordinary history that really works for all ages. What an antidote to Air B&B’s that are nice but lacking that warmth and personality.

We should mention that we had spectacular weather with lunch served in the garden – not guaranteed in Scotland but when the sun shines is there a better place on earth? The garden is huge and very secure so worked brilliantly for the young children in our party.

As the various groups departed we had Leuchie Walled Garden to ourselves for the last night. A late lunch at the Rockateer in North Berwick (lobster and chips!) was delicious then in the evening a last glass of champagne in the garden in the gloaming.

The owner was in touch throughout, recommended the wonderful caterers who know the house well and made sure that we had everything we needed. Thank you Hew.

Such a beautiful and idyllic place to stay at and spend quality time with friends in Scotland’s nature! Not far from wonderful beaches and the cute town North Berwick the house is wonderfully located. Hew has received us in the greatest way – thank you! And can’t wait to come back 🙂

Leuchie is a wonderful place to stay for families or groups of friends looking for something exceptional. The house is fabulous, spacious and full of light, but at the same time comfortable and homely, and the walled garden itself is stunning. It is superbly equipped, with plenty of crockery, glassware pots, pans and kitchen implements – everything you might need – and is spotlessly clean. Hew and the team were generous hosts and we will certainly be back.

This was my second stay at this beautiful house in North Berwick and it was just as magical as the first time. The house itself is stunning and full of character, with one of the highlights being the incredible walled gardens, which were especially beautiful as we were lucky enough to see them in the snow. With its fantastic interiors and cosy fires it’s the perfect place to relax with friends or family. I can’t recommend this house highly enough and look forward to coming back again in the future!

Leuchie! What a place! The most beautiful house, full of breathtaking art and incredible interiors. So cosy and comfortable with the most stunning views. If only I could move there tomorrow! Had the pleasure of being there when it snowed and it really was a winter wonderland. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Leuchie Walled Garden is an incredible place we hold so dear. We held our wedding here on the 6th of September. It was magical. The garden was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable day. We even chose a transparant marquee so our guests could enjoy the beauty of the extremely well maintained garden even longer. Before and after the wedding day, we had the place for ourselves; the peace and quiet is something we really could use! Located near the most perfect little town, North Berwick, it was most convenient to get baked goods, great coffee, and to browse the wee shops. Owner Hew is charming and kind. We, and all our guests, felt incredibly comfortable during our stay. A luxurious place where tradition and modernity are in perfect harmony. Fresh flowers on arrival, lovely soaps, spotless and beautiful rooms. Everything, and more.

We cannot thank you enough for letting us hold our wedding at your special place. We can’t wait to visit again!

Leuchie Walled Garden proved to be the perfect venue for our wedding. Every single guest commented on how lovely it was, with the garden still looking beautiful in late September. The house is a truly unique blend of modernism and baronial grandeur. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and Hew and his staff could not have been more helpful. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

Our family of 10 recently spent a week at the Leuchie Walled Garden in North Berwick, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The location is perfect, providing easy access to a variety of activities and attractions in North Berwick, Edinburgh, and the surrounding areas. Leuchie Walled Garden is a generous and comfortable house surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful walled garden. Our grandchildren loved playing in the garden! Hosts Hew and Janey Dalrymple made everything easy in making the arrangements for our trip. The house was perfect when we arrived including having fresh flowers in all of the rooms. George, the gardener, does an incredible job maintaining the gardens, which are a true highlight of the property. We had excellent information and support from the hosts during our stay. We highly recommend Leuchie Walled Garden to anyone looking for a charming and convenient place to stay in North Berwick. We can’t wait to return!

What a wonderful weekend at the Walled Garden. It was simply stunning. We celebrated my 60th birthday with friends and all of us agreed, what a special place this beautiful 6 bedroomed house is. Everything, from the garden, to the log fires, to the artwork. We all loved it.

Leuchie Walled Garden was just the perfect getaway. We were lucky enough to have a blanket of snow which made the whole place feel like a winter wonderland. The beds are so comfortable, interiors are beautiful and we lit the fires to have cosy evenings. It was an amazing location to catch up with friends over a long weekend. Leuchie is a one of a kind place. Beautiful interiors, comfortable and clean. Everything feels of quality and to a high standard. We visited when the walled garden was covered in snow, it was very magical, with fires blazing inside. Extremely spacious, you never feel on top of each other. Would highly recommend.

What a heavenly stay we had at Leuchie this winter. It was absolutely perfect for a group and we couldn’t have loved it more. The house itself was a dream – 10/10 interiors. The attention to detail in each room was incredible, the walled garden was beautiful and the location was ideal for lots of lovely countryside / beach walks nearby. Roaring fires and the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in – a truly wonderful break from the city. As soon as I left I wondered how soon could I return. Book your stay immediately!

We spent a family 60th birthday weekend at LWG. The house is stunning and a wonderful location for any celebration. But on a weekend of late summer sunshine, it was the garden which elevated the experience to the idyllic. A haven of calm and beauty in which to create memories we will carry a lifetime. The finishing touch was the meals provided by Steve at Pop Catering, recommended by Hew. The whole thing, simply perfect.

We had a fantastic wedding at Leuchie Walled Garden in early June. The grounds are phenomenal, and with the amazing weather it was absolutely dreamy. Hew was very accommodating with any requests and questions that we had, and helped us with being able to accommodate our small wedding dinner in the house too.

All of the rooms were a really high standard, and the bed in the room we were in was incredibly comfy!

We stayed at Leuchie Walled Garden for a long weekend for our small wedding. Hew was very accommodating on the lead up and easy to communicate with. The house and gardens are even better in person and it really feels like such a unique and special place. It was so quiet and serene. We hope we can return someday.

We loved our stay at Leuchie and I keep thinking about the house and its extraordinary walled garden and why our time there was so memorable. In part I think it was because the house is so beautifully proportioned – a blend of old and new that somehow and manages to combine comfort with a deep sense of being historical and ‘Scottish’. Also the way in which many of the interior rooms face out to, and open into the garden and so give it a very real privacy and peace. We were fortunate with the weather and the glorious early summer light and colour made it all unforgettable.

Leuchie Walled Garden is a very special place. A wonderful mixture of interesting modern architecture and old family history. We were looked after in supreme comfort and beautiful surroundings. I would recommend this property without hesitation.

Stayed recently at Leuchie WG and I couldn’t recommend it more. The house itself is stunning, lovely and warm in the winter and the views to the spectacular walled garden can’t be beaten. North Berwick is a lovely little seaside town nearby and would highly recommend the walk (or short drive) to Seacliff beach.

Leuchie Walled Garden is an outstandingly beautiful home. We used it for an away day: Hew was a perfect host, providing excellent food and spacious, delightful rooms. We were so lucky to stumble across this amazing place, tucked away in North Berwick. Our days filled with swimming at heavenly beaches nearby, playing tennis, then getting cosy in front of the fire. Just returned from my third visit to Leuchie, which becomes more lovely on each visit. The five acre walled garden is a treasure trove – tennis court, practice golf holes, espalliered fruit laden trees, flowers, lush lawns. The house is beautifully decorated, light, comfortable with fascinating Portraits, a grand piano, libraries of books, log fires and light. The kitchens are superbly fitted out. Bedrooms deliver an excellent night’s sleep. All within easy reach of deserted beaches, castles, forests and Edinburgh. The owners are kindness itself. I cannot commend it highly enough.

Totally fantastic magical house and gardens, I cannot think of enough positive words to describe this place. We were lucky enough to hold our small wedding at Leuchie Walled Garden in September 2022, we hired the house and gardens for a long weekend. The owner Hew could not have been more helpful and accommodating (not only over the weekend itself but also in the run up to our wedding), ensuring himself that we had a fabulous wedding. Everyone who attended said it really was the best wedding venue. The house itself takes your breath away it is so spectacular. Every room was spotlessly clean. The house has a very calming relaxing feel about it and I have many many happy memories of sitting on the patio enjoying looking out on the stunning grounds around us. If you are looking for a truly magical break then book Leuchie Walled Garden as you will not be disappointed.

Leuchie Walled Garden is a magical place to stay tucked away just behind North Berwick with its wonderful, large garden and beautiful interiors to match. There is a clever mix of old and new, old portraits of the family sit happily with the wonderful Femoy fabrics used throughout the house. It feels like every detail has been carefully thought through, from the bathroom products and fresh flower arrangements to comfortable beds adorned with crisp white linen, fully equipped kitchen and pantry room, and games to entertain both adults and children alike with a tennis court, pitch golf green, for dry days, and billiards and ping pong tables inside cosy outhouses for inclement weather. Leuchie Walled Garden is a wonderful base to explore the delights of East Lothian. Beautiful beaches and woods to explore, a trip round Bass Rock in a boat to see the seabirds and seals. Golf courses in abundance and some amazing places to eat for all ages and budgets. Edinburgh is a short train ride from North Berwick, so one can see the sights of this majestic and historic capital and return to the comfort and tranquility of Leuchie. With 6 adults and six children in tow it was quite the perfect place to stay.

Three generations enjoyed a fantastic holiday at Leuchie WG. The garden is spectacular, lots of room for the kids to play and explore and freshly picked raspberries and gooseberries for breakfast every day. The house was a perfect balance of historical interest, modern comforts and fun games for everyone. North Berwick has so many outdoor pursuits to offer but going back to this amazing relaxing house at the end of the day was always the best part. Highly recommended.
