Tre Vern Holiday Barn

We booked Tre Vern Holiday Barn for a long weekend hen do and it was the most wonderful stay from start to finish.

In the lead-up to our visit, Sheila was incredibly helpful… full of great local recommendations and super organised when it came to arranging pool slots. On arrival, we were completely blown away by the grounds. The photos honestly don’t do this barn justice. The property was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm, and there was plenty of space for a large group to relax comfortably. Every room has a real wow factor, and it’s clear that so much thought has gone into every detail — the barn truly has everything you could possibly need and more.

It’s a brilliant family-run business on a working farm, which made the stay feel even more special. The land itself is beautiful, with lots of birds around including peacocks, geese, and chickens, which added so much character. The family were around and on site if we needed anything, but never intrusive. There was also plenty of parking, which made arriving and getting around very easy for our group.

We were greeted with a lovely welcome hamper, a delicious lemon drizzle cake (very much appreciated!), and 30 fresh eggs for breakfast — such a thoughtful and generous touch.

The pool was great fun, although a little worn, and we weren’t able to get the sauna working. That said, the family are currently building a new, bigger pool on site, so it completely makes sense that they haven’t invested further in the existing one.

Overall, the stay was absolutely fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for a better place for a hen weekend. I really hope to return to Upperfields Farm in the future. It’s a truly special spot.

We had a wonderful 4 day family weekend celebrating my 75th birthday. 5 children, 18 adults all enjoyed this fantastic place. The Barn was warm, cosy and beautifully decorated. We hired a chef for the Saturday night for a Murder Mystery. Such fun and such happy memories for the whole family. If and when another occasion arises, we would not think of hiring anywhere else. Thank you!

Just spent a lovely weekend in Trevern Barn with friends for a divorce party. It’s an amazing place; beautifully converted, decorated and furnished. Very comfy beds, wonderful shower and glorious views. I hope to be able to return soon once I gather enough family members! We have today returned from Little Gaerfields Holiday Barn and what a fabulous family time we had. The rooms were clean and comfortable and that kitchen table WOW! We have made lots of treasured memories this week just being all together in a lovely country setting. From quiz’s, bingo, swimming, pumpkin carving thank you to Sheila the owner for buying a pumpkin each for the Children and organising a Trick or Treat Trail with some neighbours in the village! In our group where 16 and ages ranged from 2 – 65 would recommend as lots of space for everyone.

We stayed at Tre-Vern for my hen party over the weekend and it was absolutely perfect. My friends organised the entire thing and to say I was gobsmacked when I arrived at this beautiful venue is an understatement. The venue is spacious, stylish and incredibly practical for large groups with bathrooms in every bedroom! We particularly enjoyed admiring the views from the sheltered balcony (rain or shine!), the two large living spaces and the coffee machine!! Every single detail was considered and the hospitality from Sheila was of the absolute highest standard. Could not recommended enough. From one very happy bride!

We booked Trevern Barn for my sister’s hen do. It was a great find, perfect for 20 people with so much space inside and out. We loved how well-equipped the place was, it felt like so many little details had been thought of and that the owners appreciated the ways their guests might want to use the space to eat and have fun and dance. The bedrooms were very spacious and having en-suites in each room was so helpful for us with so many guests. Everything was lovely and clean and well-kept. The owner, Sheila, was helpful and responsive and everyone loved the huge lemon drizzle cake she kindly left for us!

Tre-Vern is an absolutely gem of a place to stay. The pictures don’t do the place justice. We stayed for a Hen Do and the space was perfect. The accommodation was clean and extremely well equipped. The rooms and ensuites were well presented, and the communal spaces were so much bigger than they seem in the photos. Sheila was a perfect host, close by for anything we needed but also gave us space. Thank you for a wonderful stay! I’d recommend it to anyone!!

I booked the Tre Vern holiday barn for a stag do I was organising and am so pleased I did. The house was perfect for our group and was within easy reach to lots of activities.

We went on Easter Sunday, farm shop was lovely with good produce. They had an ice cream van!

We stayed at Little Gaerfields last weekend for my Mum’s 80th Birthday. We were a mixture of family and friends ageing from 82 to 8 mths old. The place was spotless, literally every essential you could think of was there and it felt so homely and welcoming. The pool was a massive hit for us all, where we had so much fun! Sheila and Vernon we’re so lovely. We even had a tour of Tre-vern which was absolutely outstanding! I honestly cannot recommend this place enough and hope to visit again next year!

All previous reviews are spot on. Little Gaerfields is an ideal place for a family get-together. We were 16 adults and 10 small children and there was enough to occupy all ages (2 weeks to 70 years) without going anywhere (We had intended to see the surrounding countryside!) All loved the pool and the games room had bikes, table-tennis, dolls house, skittles etc etc. Brilliant! Sheila was very communicative beforehand which made planning easy and she wanted everyone to enjoy themselves. Just go! Jocelyn

Tre-Vern was the perfect place for a weekend of 30th birthday celebrations. The barn is so spacious and well-equipped with everything we needed and more. Sheila was really helpful in answering any questions which made the planning much easier. Would recommend Upperfields for anyone looking for large accommodation suitable for both adults and children.

Little Gaerfields is the perfect place for a family get together. 13 of us ranging in age from a 2-year-old to a 70-year-old granddad had a wonderful week in this fantastic property. The bedrooms and bathrooms were really well appointed and super clean, the kitchen large and well equipped and there was plenty of space for everyone. The grandchildren continually asked, “When are we going to the pool?” and many happy fun-filled hours were spent in the water. They also used the playroom which contained lots of toys as well as the pool table and table tennis table. Many swallows and sparrows visited the feeding station in the garden and we all enjoyed the wonderful views from every window in the property. Sheila is an amazing host and super helpful, she couldn’t do enough to make it easy for us to settle in, answer queries during the week and give us local information to make the most of the area. One of our family has an electric car and one of the bonuses of Little Gaerfields is having an EV charging point on site. We have no reservations in recommending this property; one of our son’s said on the final evening, “When can we come here again?”.

We had a wonderful stay at Little Gaerfields for a hen do weekend. Sheila was very responsive and attentive to any questions and needs we had, and even provided a full tea set for afternoon tea. The rooms and bathrooms were all of a high standard, and the communal areas were very spacious. The kitchen was also incredibly well equipped and we enjoyed using the on-site swimming pool. I would definitely stay again!

Spent a wonderful weekend here with our family for a much needed reunion, accommodation is lovely and has everything you need to cater for a large group. The kids especially loved the pool and games room & can’t wait to come back & visit!

There is hardly anything to fault about this accommodation, our host Shiela was an absolute delight to speak to and she made sure we were all comfortable and had everything we needed. The pool was as fun as expected and some of the rural views were beautifully peaceful. The accomodation itself was very spacious , easily housing 20 people. Having so many additional facilities and amenities such as a games room or open fields were you can pet and watch cows and various bits of nature to their work. Spacious rooms and bathrooms was such a nice experience to be in and felt like a 5* hotel. This place has everything you could want in a getaway rural experience, not only will I be recommending it to everyone I know, but I will probably be going back there myself! Thankyou for such a lovely time!

Utterly breathtaking location, with the most gorgeous rooms and interior facilities. Such an enjoyable stay with plenty of room even with 20 people.

We had such a wonderful time here for my sister’s hen party. The accommodation was fabulous and had absolutely everything you would need for a party and to relax, the hosts were infinitely accommodating and kind and the rooms were really comfortable and spacious. Great place for family getaway beautiful scenery

We stayed as a large family group with ages ranging from under one to early 50s. There were thirteen children! Little Gaerfields is amazing for a large group. The house is nicely laid out with three distinct sleeping areas meaning little ones can sleep soundly whilst older ones carry on enjoying the evening. The large kitchen / dining / sofa area is fantastic for socialising and sharing meals. The kitchen is well stocked with every possible item you could need to cook up a feast for 20+. There was a mixer, cup cake trays, foil, cling film, gybornous pots etc etc. The two dishwashers were a saving grace. All the bedrooms are nicely decorated with en suites and an abundance of towels are provided. The indoor swimming pool a must for all, many enjoyable hours were spent in the pool. Additionally there is a lovely enclosed garden where children can play safely. There is also an indoor barn should the weather be not so clement. Our children loved feeding the chickens and visitng the cows and horses in the field opposite. Sheila and Vernon are amazing hosts, on hand should you need anything. There are also two lovely dogs should anyone love dogs, our children enjoyed playing ball with them but if you’re not a dog person you don’t need to worry as they don’t come into the house or garden. Definitely recommend for any group size. Really amazing house and we have stayed at a few as a large group.

We stayed here last weekend, for a last minute change of scenery. Sheila was very accommodating and attentive and made sure our stay ran smoothly. The house was lovely and the pool and games barn were a massive bonus, particularly when the weather was poor. The house is well situated for exploring the local area and has some good local Pubs, if you don’t feel like cooking! The home produced eggs and apple juice were a nice touch and were well received. We hope to return for another visit, fingers crossed as a bigger family group, once COVID restrictions are lifted.

Had a lovely long weekend away here celebrating a 70th birthday. Very quirky & comfortable place to stay. Never seen so many kids toys in a holiday home, My 2 year was very happy with the play kitchen! Feeding the chickens everyday was also a bonus!

Beautifully furnished home – 23 of us. kitchen is the hub of the home, lovely and warm. Bedrooms stylishly decorated. Owners very helpful and popped in to check all was well. Highly recommended. Great weekend for a 70th birthday party – age range from 1 to 82!

It was perfect for a large group of friends: plenty of space, massive well equipped kitchen, lovely comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, great to have the pool as well. Lovely holiday house for a big group. Super well equipped, and we were welcome with a delicious freshly baked lemon drizzle cake, a basket full of eggs and even chocolates. Plus great swimming pool too, and wonderful nature all around, next to picturesque Ross-on-Wye.

Im just back from my friends hen weekend after staying here and it has been THE best weekend – the house is just beautiful and easily fit all 18 of us. The owner Shelia was very welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed including a homemade lemon cake on arrival 🙂 We used the pool which was lovely, hired a local hall just a short drive from the house for activity arranged by the bridesmaids and even had caterers provide us a 2 course meal on the saturday evening – i understand Shelia was very helpful in recommending local suppliers. Hopefully i get chance to visit again! — with Simi Chana and Abbey Lucy Jones.

We just spent a fantastic weekend at this beautiful property. We had 26 ladies staying for a Hen weekend and it was just perfect. The bedrooms and bathrooms are immaculate and the large kitchen was just perfect for everyone to eat together. The extra touches from Shelia like the eggs and homemade cake were so kind! I would highly recommend this accommodation… it made my Little sisters Hen weekend everything she wanted and more! X

Just got home from a brilliant weekend at Little Gaerfields… the house is absolutely beautiful and the location is idyllic. As a group of 16 we had plenty of space, the beds were extremely comfy and the swimming pool was great fun. Sheila and Vernon are the most friendly, welcoming hosts, we even had a cake and fresh eggs on arrival! We all loved it so much we have decided to make it an annual trip!

A wonderful family weekend for my Mum's 70th birthday. The house was fabulous, warm and welcoming, with comfortable bedrooms and clean bathrooms. The kitchen was huge and incredibly well kitted out with all we needed for large family meals. The separate living room with big, comfy sofas allowed the children to play games and watch tv. The swimming pool was an absolute bonus with both children and adults having a great time! All in all, it worked well for our family and we can highly recommend it.

This is my fifth year in this wonderful barn, it's the perfect setting for a relaxing retreat with friends, we have had a fantastic time stitching, eating, drinking and of course chatting!! Sheila has been the perfect host, even inviting us to chat to her sewing group in the house, nothing is to much trouble, to make the stay enjoyable. See you next year and for many years to come x

Perfect! Location gorgeous – situated on a farm in the middle of dreamy scenery. House, amazing – had everything you can think of, accommodated 20 people more than comfortably. Owners delightful – couldn't be more polite & helpful, we were even greeted with beautiful flowers, chocolate brownies, Victoria sponge cake & apple juice in the house. Could not have asked for more! This place is amazing, set in a beautiful location, had everything we needed, homemade cakes, Apple juice and freshly laid eggs left for us, just amazing, the house is stunning, our weather was perfect and the pool was great, seeing some new additions to the farm was lovely too. Where to start, this place is amazing and just so beautiful, we had the most amazing time here. The pool was great, the views are breathtaking, everything we needed was in the house, the bedrooms, bathrooms and dining table were all so good and there was so much space for all 19 of us, I would recommend this place for any party if you love being in the middle of nowhere, it was just bliss, we also met some of the new animals on the farm, kittens, goslings and chicks, just gorgeous. Thanks for renting your house to us.

The perfect place to spend a weekend with your whole family!We didn’t know the area at all and literally stuck a pin in the map to find a place equidistant from Manchester, London and Devon…and we found Little Gaerfields.We couldn’t believe our luck : brownies and eggs on arrival, a warm welcome from Sheila, an intriguing house for the children to explore, big bedrooms with lots of sleeping options, a kitchen equipped with everything you need, masses of toys and games..and to top it all a great pool…and a sauna.Easily the best holiday rental we have ever had and we appreciated the care and effort that had been put into it.

Spent 5 days last Christmas at Little Gaerfields with 18 members of my family and it was Amazing. The whole place was fantastic from the accommodation, pool, location and the wonderful decorated Christmas tree which extended up to the first floor right outside the children's bedroom. Sheila made everyone feel so at home and relaxed. Thank you to Micheal and Mary for a great Christmas treat. We hope to Stay Again sometime as my granddaughters never stop talking about it , and say Christmas will not be the same this year. We stayed for a week as a family of 10 – grandparents, parents and children (aged 2 -11). We found the property easily enough, but as you would expect for the location, the roads were very narrow in places and a little hairy! The children loved the house and all of its hidden secrets – albeit quite dark in places! It was very spacious, and I can easily see the house swallowing many more people easily. Any small problems we had were soon dealt with by the owner.

The pool was a great way to spend a rainy day. The children all loved the jets and swimming against the bubbles. It was a good depth for our children, with no deep end. The playbarn was a good space for the children to blow off steam – although it was very, very dusty, and most of the things in it were broken! – With a little love it could be have been fantastic. My son loved the skittle alley and we enjoyed some competitive darts matches. We also had fun playing football in the fields – beware of cowpats (but, again, to be expected). The children enjoyed feeding the chickens and eating the complimentary eggs. Lovely!

I would recommend a day to Barry Island. A long trip, but such a beautiful beach. The house was also a good base to visit Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth Cardiff, and the surrounding castles. We also had a family meal in the Royal Arms – A long, leisurely trek across the corn fields if you feel like a walk! The food was okay I guess.

My only real negative about the house would be the flies – They were literally dropping like flies everywhere. But as it is a working farm we should have been more prepared for this.

So, all in all – lots of space, lots of beautiful countryside, lots of swimming, lots of happy children.

17 of us spent a lovely weekend at Little Gaerfields a few weekends ago for my sisters hen weekend – I can not recommend it enough! It is set in a stunning secluded location and the facilities are fantastic! Sheila was so accommodating and made us feel at home! Am looking for another excuse to go back!

Pool nice, clean and warm and shirley the owner is just lovely! We had a full house of 18 but u could have as little as u like! Can't wait for hopefully another new year break and also a summer one with a nice bbq in the garden thanks guys so much! Xxxxxx

Spent a week here in March for my 30th with 15 people and a few babies. Had a BRILLIANT time….the indoor pool was the highlight of the week with everyone from youngest to oldest. Definitely would go back.

We absolutely loved our stay! A whole bunch of us came through from London for a rugby match. Everything was very clean and tidy. Even our groceries were delivered and unpacked by the time we got there. It is a truly beautiful converted old barn and we were sad to go.

Exceptional venue for friends to get together. Very comfortable and beautifully set up for families too. So much to do and so little time. We all loved it here.
