Sea View Manor is an eight-bedroom house on the Cromer Road just outside Mundesley, on the north Norfolk coast, with views over the sea from nearly every room. It was a hotel before the current owners bought it as their family home by the sea, and it sleeps up to 22. A path runs from the grounds straight down to the beach.

Outside there is a 10m heated pool with loungers by the pool house, a hot tub, an outdoor fire wall for watching the sunset, a pizza oven and a barbecue, with built-in speakers on the terrace. Up to 30 can sit down to eat outdoors, and there is an outdoor hot shower for coming back from the beach.

There are two big, well-equipped kitchens – Quooker taps, a built-in Siemens coffee machine, a steam oven, a teppanyaki plate and a Thermomix among them – and two dining areas inside. Downstairs there are three lounges with open fires and widescreen TVs, plus a games room with a pool table.

Bedrooms are spread over three floors and most beds are zip and link, so they can be made up as superkings or singles. The master bedroom on the first floor has an emperor bed and a freestanding bath facing the sea. The family room has an en suite and a screened area with bunk beds, and the top floor has a room with zip and link beds and two singles that suits teenagers. There is also a ground-floor bedroom with a sofa bed. Several rooms are en suite, with underfloor heating and walk-in rain showers. Private chefs can be arranged.

Weekend stays start on a Friday for two or three nights, week-long stays start on a Friday or Monday, and midweek breaks of three nights or more start on a Monday or Tuesday. Sea View Manor is non-smoking inside and doesn’t take pets (guide dogs only). Hen and stag parties are by arrangement with the owner, and the pool, hot tub and outdoor areas are quiet from 10.30pm to 8am.

Location and Things to Do

Mundesley is a small seaside village with a sandy beach, reached from the house by its own path. Cromer, with its pier, is a short drive along the coast, and the rest of the north Norfolk coast and the Broads are within easy reach.
