The Barns – Exclusive Hire

Set on our family farm in the village of Lyonshall in Herefordshire, we offer exclusive hire for stays of up to 48 guests, with configurations for smaller groups of up to 20 and 28 respectively. (See our other listings).

Our barns are beautifully and considerately furnished, with thoughtfully curated pieces to enjoy as you walk around the spaces.

Exclusive Hire will give you the use of the entire site, and is the perfect set-up to celebrate a special event. There are 20 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms, cosy living spaces, games rooms, a 65ft open-plan kitchen and dining area perfect for feasting together, BBQs, hot tubs, childrens’ play areas and large gardens.

We offer flexibility in our bedrooms, with options to arrange the beds in superking/twin configurations and a daybed available in certain spaces. All options can be sent over upon enquiry.

We are ideal for families, and have an outdoor play area for children, large garden areas for games, and fun bedrooms for the children including one accessible only by footbridge(!) You can bring all of the family along as we are also dog friendly.

As well as recommending our favourite local spots to visit, we can help organise your stay – whether that’s arranging for caterers to come and cook up a feast, or to arrange some activities for you to enjoy at The Barns. We can arrange for spa treatments, yoga classes, and we can offer on-site services such as additional cleaning services throughout your stay. We can also arrange for our local suppliers to deliver some produce for your arrival, including flowers from our local florist.

We also take corporate bookings and have a designated presentation area and have indoor and outdoor breakout and meeting spaces.

We are located in Herefordshire, sitting aside the Welsh border. We are surrounded by farmland, and you’ll see our Hereford cattle and Ryeland sheep walking the fields. We sit within The Marches, an area of beauty that runs along the Welsh/English border, and is famed for its history and interesting landscapes.

The Barns sit in the quiet village of Lyonshall, which is on the black-and-white trail of Herefordshire – a 40 mile circular route that takes you through the historic villages and towns full of traditional timber-framed buildings.

Due to our location, we are surrounded by history and wonderful towns to visit. We are near historic Hereford, home of the Mappa Mundi, antiques-havens of Leominster and Ludlow, and the renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye.

The landscapes offer an immense amount to do outdoors, with some fantastic hikes (including some from the doorstep!) We have great houses and gardens to visit, and lots of local producers offering open days and tastings including gin distilleries, cider producers and cheese producers.

We send out a brochure of local recommendations and our local walks to all enquiries, so you can see in detail all of the lovely things there are to do. We can also recommend some itineraries if you have something particular in mind.

The Barns, built in the 1870’s, have a long history of being working agricultural barns and many original features remain.
