Northfields House

We recently returned to Northfields House for another big family birthday. We all absolutely loved the house and we were able to enjoy the stunning gardens and pool in glorious weather. Thank you Alasdair and your amazing team, you’ve created a wonderful home, perfect for a family gathering with ages from an 8 month old baby to an 80 year old celebrating a birthday!

I’ve just returned from a wonderful weekend celebrating my 40th birthday at Northfields House. It’s a truly special place to spend a weekend. We were a large party of adults and children. The house, grounds, squash court, pianos and games all provided a fantastic environment to celebrate. Alasdair and his team were quick to respond to our questions and did all they could to help make it a special weekend. We would love to stay again.

A superb venue for a big family event. The grounds, pool, lawn tennis and sports facilities are all perfectly maintained. The three grand pianos a huge asset too. Alasdair even arranged a special tuning so that the Steinway was in tip top condition for our visiting pianist. Alasdair was an excellent host from start to finish. Highly recommended and we’d love to return before long!

We booked Northfields to celebrate my 60th birthday. Even had we not been blessed with glorious sunshine for the entire weekend I can say without hesitation we could not have chosen a better venue. The sunshine enabled us to use all the facilities including the pool and the tennis court The squash court was also an amazing experience, though the highlight was being able to sit down at one table with all of our guests on the Saturday evening and celebrate together. A big thank you to Alasdair and his team. I cannot recommend your venue more highly.

Stunning venue, great homely vibe and an awesome host.

Perfect venue for a large family gathering, set in a quiet location but not far from the A27. The spacious accommodation has well appointed bedrooms, many with ensuites, a large dining room, and several lounges as well as access to large grounds and a squash court. Sadly, visiting in October meant we couldn’t enjoy the pool area or croquet lawn.

Our entire family stayed for the weekend to celebrate Vivien’s (mum, nan, great grandma) 90th birthday. Our host Alasdair was very welcoming. The house and grounds are very impressive. Inside was very clean and felt comfortable and thanks to good weather we enjoyed the swimming pool and tennis court. A great time was had by all!

Northfields House is absolutely stunning. Alistair & his team were extremely friendly & helpful. They went above & beyond for us. There were 21 of us in total We have meet up for the last 12 years in different houses & everyone said this was one of the best! We will be back for a summer stay

We hired this house as a place for family and friends to stay. We were attending a family event nearby. It was fabulous we were able to enjoy the wide ranging activities and facilities. The house had everything we needed. We were looking after ourselves which was a real treat in the wonderful surroundings. The owner was helpful with advice and support if we needed it. The house have us the opportunity to mix as some were coming from Ireland, Italy, and all parts of the UK.

My wife and I, and our respective children and grandchildren, stayed for the long weekend of the Coronation. We loved the spaciousness, with lots of large bedrooms and reception rooms. The long dining hall easily accommodated the 22 of us for lunch, while the 15 adults in our party fitted perfectly into the panelled dining room each evening. We played tennis on the grass court on Friday, held a squash tournament on the rainy coronation Saturday, and used the swimming pool, played croquet and had barbecue lunch on the terrace when the sun reappeared on Sunday. The toddlers loved the toys in the playroom, and playing in the well kept garden, while the cooks amongst us liked the well equipped kitchen. It was a lovely and memorable family weekend in a lovely and memorable house.

We spent a weekend at Northfields House to celebrate my birthday with about 30 family and friends . It is a lovely spacious house -with a charming helpful host -and very comfortable large bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms . There are numerous well appointed reception rooms and a fabulous long table seating 30 + . It was warm on a freezing January day . Highly recommended . There is a nice big swimming pool for summer use

Lovely stay, all warm and comfortable, beds easy to sleep in. Enjoyed the Aga in the kitchen. Great place to spend time with the whole family and still have a bit of “space”

Northfields is a lovely interesting house which, like it’s owner, seems happy to welcome visitors. It is a place where a large group of all ages can stay and still escape to a quiet place if they wish. You seem to have thought of everything that is needed Alasdair and thank you for those little extra touches like flowers on the tables. Also thank you to the cleaning staff for providing us with a spotless house to come to. Northfields is a work in progress as Alasdair mends and restores but I hope anyone who is lucky enough to spend a few days in his lovely house will enjoy it as much as we did

Had a truly wonderful weekend here for my wife’s 50th party, originally delayed due to covid! House was perfect, very happy. Book it, you won’t be disappointed.

Five stars from me for Northfields Country House! Just got back from an absolutely wonderful weekend with 18 friends celebrating my belated 50th. The house was the perfect setting, beds comfortable, kitchen very well equipped, clean and plenty of space for us all to enjoy it. The drawing room was a really cosy place to relax round the fire, we had canapes and drinks in the music room and a very elegant dinner in the large dining room. As we were very lucky with the weather sitting outside on the patio was glorious, enjoying the stunning grounds. Alasdair the owner went above and beyond to make everything perfect for us. After waiting over two years to celebrate my 50th, this weekend exceeded my expectations. Thank you Alasdair.

We spent a week here with friends and family to celebrate my husband’s 40th an absolutely loved it. The house is wonderful. So much space for everyone to enjoy, a stunning garden, and the house has so much character and is a charming place to relax by the fire, and enjoy lovely meals together in the amazing dining rooms. The kitchen is really well equipped which makes catering for large groups feel really easy. We had lots of children in the group and the house worked brilliantly for them too. Alasdair was incredibly helpful in the lead up, and during out stay. We had such a wonderful time and I already want to book our return visit!

An amazing house, we held a 50th birthday. It is has everything you need. Great for kids as well as just Adults. Space for everyone. Great location, nice walks. Would do this again every weekend if I could.

Beautiful manor house, loads of character with amazing grounds and room to spare. Only marking it down slightly as it’s certainly starting to show wear and tear with some windows covered in duct tape whilst others have missing panes. Despite this, we are still planning a return visit

A lovely place to have a peaceful getaway weekend.

Had a family holiday here in July. Lovely old place full of charm and history. Luckily the weather was perfect so we made full use of the swimming pool and facilities.

We spent a fabulous week with the family and friends at Northfield House for the 3rd year running. What a great location with room to cater for 30+ people. Alistair the owner is really helpful and friendly. Kids particularly loved the pool croquet tennis and squash options. Never a dull moment highly recommended.

Had a long weekend with family here and couldn’t praise it enough. Tennis courts, squash court, swimming pool, beautiful huge garden. Interior was amazing although could do with a lick of paint here and there but we felt like lords and ladies for the weekend – a truly fantastic location!
