The Comb is a beautifully restored stone farmhouse in Northumberland National Park. It’s a great place for family reunions or vacations with many people. The property has 10 bedrooms with their own bathrooms, which can fit up to 20 people. There is room for six more guests at the Comb Farmhouse. The estate has carefully planned areas for outdoor activities. The Dark Sky Park has a big barn that is great for events and has amazing views of the stars from its location.
The bedrooms have been carefully designed to be comfortable places to relax, and each one has its own bathroom so that all guests can have privacy and ease. The common areas are great for both having fun and relaxing. They have different areas for different types of group activities and events.
The outdoor areas on the property are great because there are many places to do things and hold events. The barn has been changed so that bigger groups can fit inside, but it still looks like it did when it was built. The estate has been carefully cared for to keep its original features while ensuring all modern comforts are available.
The property’s unique location in the Dark Sky Park gives guests a great chance to see the stars and make memories under the night sky.

Edmund's Choice of Extraordinary Feature
“The whole of this gem of an estate is pretty special, but the Dark Skies Balcony is hard to beat. Most of our houses on LH have great views, but the Comb really does offer a bit of… actual Space…”

Wonderful place for a family birthday celebration – large, well decorated, relaxing sapces, well equipped, everyone had a bathroom, and there was a table to seat all 28 of us – brilliant. Room for a familiy ceilidh in the bar – and a bar (BYOB of course)! We did yoga/pilates in the snug – good for wee ones to chill too.
Easy to get in, great directions, single track road for a while – didnt phase us but might others. What took time was figuring out where all the bedrooms were, so where everyone was to go, the place is huge.
Wonderful court yard with flowering cherry – in bloom for us – lovely out of the wind. There were a few hiccups in communication before we got there, but was great responsiveness when we got there for any minor queries. Several satellites and shooting stars, not quite dark enough to see Andromeda, but it was May and not yet midnight and quite a few clouds around. Lots of space for running around outside and football goals for the wee ones.
Very relaxing indeed, can thoroughly recommend for a family group or wedding – although we did not see inside the wedding barn – but had taken the farmhouse too – even more relaxing than the Comb itself.

We were a large family group of 20 adults & 3 children who stayed here for three nights to celebrate a 60th Birthday. House was very spacious and accommodated us all easily. Was so special to have the large social spaces where we could all eat around the table and all sit together in the evenings to socialise. Was great that all bedrooms were ensuite. Beds were comfy and it was so quiet and peaceful. We were able to cook for us all with ease. Having the caterer in on the saturday night was a big bonus and worked really well. We would definitely return for another large family holiday.
