Fantastics place – luxuriously large – but still homely. Hannah is a brilliant host – leaves you to it but always on hand. Absolutely faultless – brilliant kitchen and prep room too, although the ovens were just a bit uneven in the cooking. Fantastic area, lovely grounds. Zero complaints from our party of 32

I organised a Rivals (80s) themed party and Hallsannery House was the perfect location. Hannah was amazing the whole way through. Nothing was too much trouble and she was so enthusiastic about the theme which I appreciated! Everything from start to finish was fabulous and would not hesitate to recommend Hannah, Hallsannery and the whole team. Thank you all for making my 40th birthday a weekend I’ll never forget!

Beautiful house and grounds

We have just had a week-long stay here, and had the most beautiful wedding in the grounds. House is perfect, gardens are spectacular, property has everything you could possibly need, and Hannah the owner could not have been more accommodating. 28 of us in total, and there was ample room for everybody. I cannot recommend this place enough for a wedding, or just a holiday for a large group. Close to so many beautiful places, if you can drag yourself away from the house. Would love to return here again, it’s been magical!!! Thank you Hannah for allowing us to have our wedding in this beautiful property!

As a professional wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working at some truly remarkable venues. However, Hallsannery House has completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its stunning location and the sheer beauty of the grounds. The house itself is a masterpiece, boasting fantastic natural light that is every photographer’s dream.

The elegant architecture, coupled with the meticulously maintained gardens, provides an endless array of breathtaking backdrops. Whether it’s capturing intimate moments in the romantic corners of the gardens or grand scenes within the house’s exquisite interiors, Hallsannery House offers unparalleled opportunities for creating timeless images.

I’m so impressed with this venue that I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning in both 2025 and 2026 to photograph more weddings here. Hallsannery House isn’t just a venue; it’s an experience that elevates any special occasion to new heights of elegance and beauty.

We stayed at Hallsannery for the weekend to celebrate our recent marriage with friends, and to host a Great Gatsby themed party on the Saturday night and it was absolutely amazing!

Hallsannery House is completely stunning, with a range of beautiful rooms and gorgeous ensuite bedrooms, our friends and family all commented at how amazing it was. The house was extremely well equipped for all our needs, and Hannah and Charles were so helpful for everything throughout the weekend too – both so friendly and relaxed.

We’d seen a few other venues before booking Hallsannery and all I can say is I am SO happy we chose Hallsannery. It was beyond all our expectations and we loved every minute!

My daughters wedding venue, what can I say if I was getting married this is the place I would use it has it all, big rooms large kitchen great bedrooms plenty of green space. It’s the sort of venue that you will not forget in a long time.

An Amazing House, lots of attention to detail. We were a group of 24 ranging from 6mnths to 79 years old and we all loved it. There was lots to do in the area but the house and grounds were so good we had to force ourselves to leave it. We will hopefully be returning. Many thanks to Hannah for making us feel so welcome.

We have been visiting hallsannery for many years, we think 10! We are a group of university friends who have expanded to include our partners and children. We always have an amazing time at Hallsannery and Hannah is always so welcoming. It’s truly a magical place where you can relax, explore the surrounding areas and catch up. It’s also well served in the surrounding area, with beaches, theme parks and shops all close by. We hope that we will still be visiting hallsannery when we are (more) grey and old(er).

What. A. Place!! We stayed at Hallsannery for a week with our friends and family to celebrate our wedding. It was the perfect setting and we have so many special memories from our time here. The gorgeous spacious rooms were well appointed and super clean which meant everyone had their own private space to relax, along with the added benefit of ensuites so there were no issues with bathroom sharing. We had young children in our group and the house is well set up for there to be quieter spaces. They had a great time running around both inside and outside in the gorgeous grounds. I can only imagine how beautiful the gardens and terraces are in summer! Even in January, the house was always warm and the fire made for a really cozy place to spend evenings catching up or playing board games. There is plenty of storage space for a large group of adults, and the kitchen is equipped for anything you might want. The beautiful dining room was the perfect space for our evening celebrations and having a band (The Everglow who were amazing!) set up in the corner made for a grand event. We used local companies to cater for us all weekend and there were so many brilliant ones to choose from (Graze and Smore, Frisky Pheasant and Gatehouse Trailer Bar being the best ones). Hannah was incredibly friendly and helpful even before we secured our booking. She was very quick to respond and helped us organise every detail, and was contactable all week if we had any issues or questions. Incredible value for money! Hallsannery felt like home from home, we will definitely be back! Thank you Hannah and Charles!

I cannot recommend Hallsannery House highly enough. Everything is perfect. We had a party for 50 people with 28 staying in the house. The rooms, beds, duvets, pillows were so comfortable and conducive with an excellent nights sleep. The house is incredibly quiet and solid so no one was woken by people clattering about. We used Sarah Jane and her team for the catering and party management and everyone agreed it was all incredible. We could not have had a better weekend. Do not hesitate to book Hallsannery, you will have the best time. Massive ‘thank you’ to Hannah, Sarah Jane and all the wonderful happy, helpful staff.

Very nice venue, great views, and a pleasant place to stay for a wedding.

Amazing venue, we stayed here for a family birthday to celebrate 90 years of life! Absolutely fantastic views, lots of indoor and outdoor space with lovely clean rooms. The venue also came with lawn games, tennis courts and games room to keep kids entertained Along with two pool tables and table tennis.

Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a gorgeous venue.

Hallsannery House was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted somewhere comfortable and homely for our guests, whilst offering that wow factor expected from a wedding. It really delivered! We were lucky to have hot weather and clear skies, but even with this we opted to have the ceremony at the bottom of the stairs as it offered such an impressive backdrop.

The property and its grounds are beautiful. All the rooms are spacious, with very comfortable beds and bathrooms, so none of our guests felt like they had been put in a lesser room. All the rooms offered amazing views over the Devon countryside. The living spaces are generous, yet cosy, allowing our guests to either be in the middle of the action or find a quiet place to rest a while.

Hannah (the owner) was great, really friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive, both before and during our stay.

I really could not have asked for more from Hallsannery, and would recommend a stay to anyone as I’m confident they will love it!

We spent a week at Hallsannery, and got married in the house on 17th February 2023. We and our guests had the most amazing week in the run up to the wedding, enjoying everything Hallsannery, its grounds and surrounding area has to offer. The house itself made the most perfect wedding venue for us, a spectacular manor house in amazingly well kept grounds. Hannah was so helpful from the day of our first visit, to recommending other suppliers, helping on the wedding day and being available to answer any questions we had. We fell in love with Hallsannery the very first time we visited and immediately knew it was the venue for us – we would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a unique manor house wedding venue. We cannot wait to return in the future!

Hallsannery is simply beautiful, overlooking the Torridge and with Bideford and beaches just a short distance away. Couples I’ve photographed at this venue have enjoyed the relaxed nature of the place, opting to stay in the house with friends and family and making a weekend (or week) of it. You have full scope of doing things your way, getting your preferred caterers in and enjoying every minute of it. There are plenty of places for photographs in and around the house but it’s also close by to some amazing beaches. Highly recommended!

Just spent three days at Hallsannery house with 20 family members , fantastic house lovely rooms everything you need , already looking to book next year.

Stunning house. Large rooms. Perfect for events or families to rent for a get together. Highly recommend for weddings, birthdays and Christmas. Loads of freedom for the young ones with game room and others. Have loads of amazing photos but not allowed to post as not my wedding.

Our wedding at Hallsannery was everything we wanted and more! The freedom we had with suppliers was exactly what we wanted as we wanted to DIY it all. Hannah was amazing at giving us guidance and inspiration when we were planning and was infinitely helpful throughout. On the day Hannah’s three boys (and her help too!) made our day run so smoothly. We had our wedding ‘weekend’ here in April for ourselves and extended family and friends, with plenty of rooms to host them all. The separate coach house was perfect for the men, to get ready in and stay the night before the wedding. The rooms were spacious and stunning, nicely renovated and the rooms downstairs and large kitchen gives plenty of communal spaces for you all! The outside space is just as perfect… especially watching the sunrise from the outside hut on my wedding morning! The house speaks for itself and as soon as we saw it and met Hannah, we knew instantly this was where we wanted to get married. Hannah was so welcoming, attentive and supportive throughout the whole wedding process, we were lockdown postponed and Hannah was brilliant and made it so stress free! This place is perfect for any wedding, celebration or family gathering and I couldn’t recommend it more. Hold the diary open for our 10 year wedding celebrations !!

Hallsannery is a perfect location for a large family gathering, it is capacious, characterful and at the same time cosy. The bedrooms are all sizeable, well appointed with good en suite facilities. Hannah and Charles are excellent hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to ensure your stay is a great one. The location is superb with stunning views down to the Torridge and into Bideford, with many interesting amenities close by. We made use of the lovely grounds with tennis courts, croquet lawn and table tennis table. The receptions rooms are very spacious even allowing us to seat all 28 family members for dinner. The additional coach house is a bonus with its’ flexible accommodation and 2 kitchens. We had such a wonderful time we have immediately booked a return visit.

Great few days celebrating our 60th birthdays – 10 of us enjoyed it immensely, and the accommodation was first class.

We got married at Hallsannery in May & absolutely love the house.

We had the men stay in the coach house, which gave them ample space to chill out & have their own "night before".

The main house, has large rooms, giving plenty of room for drinks, meals and dancing. It has its own "wow" but is still a comfortable space. Don't forget about the outside space, most of our day was spent outside allowing us to be truly informal.

Can't recommend this place enough and already looking to book for a big birthday in few years time
