Vale House

Vale House is a wildly creative Victorian guest house, below Belvoir Castle in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire.

The house sleeps up to 23 guests in 9 bedrooms, with 8 bathrooms. There are two en-suite super king bedrooms, three en-suite king bedrooms, one en-suite quadruple, and a set of king, triple and quadruple bedrooms that share two bathrooms.

Downstairs, there is a fabulous cocktail bar area, with padded pink leather seats and chandeliers.  This area can also be set up as a dining space. Cooking facilities are provided by a practical, well-equipped kitchen.

On clement days, you can make use of an outside terrace area and a children’s play area.

About the Location

Vale House is about ten minutes’ drive from the A52, and about fifteen minutes’ drive from Grantham and Melton Mowbray. It’s a further forty minutes to Nottingham, and is close to the A1, for anyone approaching from the South East. There are regular trains from Melton Mowbray.

Things to do

Vale House is on the edge of The Engine Yard; a boutique retail site, which offers local food, drink and artisan shopping. There’s a bar on site, a pizza restaurant, or a brasserie. 

Across the road from Vale House is Belvoir Castle which is the ancestral home of the Duke of Rutland. 

The Castle is often used as a filming location, featuring in Netflix’s The Crown, the Da Vinci Code, Victoria & Abdul and much more. In addition, Belvoir Castle’s grounds are open for guests to meander acres of Capability Brown landscapes and beautifully established formal gardens on a variety of walks and trails.

Other activities on the doorstep include; cycling, fishing, golfing, shooting, karting, sky diving and a plethora of country pubs.  For those of you with young families, you should also check out Twin Lakes, Ed and Molly’s Play Barn and Little Jacks Farm.
