The one star relates to woodstore cottage we have booked twice now to go and twice had it cancelled with the Same excuse water in the cottage This is not very nice when we had to make all the calls to the booking agent to get our money back So if you are thinking of going to woodstore cottage ask them if the water problem has been sorted out before you book ☹️

Had amazing time with my family celebrating my mum’s birthday. The dining room was just what we needed for the occastion. Beautiful house, well equipped and perfect for our party. Very welcoming owners, it was a pleasure to meet them. Lots of books to read around the house and a wonderful reading room upstairs. Perfect for summer or winter stay. Rural setting, but close to village and town. The views from the terrace made my morning this one bit more beautiful every time

Our group of university friends rented the whole house and stayed for 4 nights over Easter, April 2014.

When we arrived at Lazonby Hall we were greeted warmly by the family and given a full tour. Despite the grandeur of this beautiful house, it has a very homely feel. The modern facilities are fantastic, not to mention the beautiful views and the peace and quiet, and we all enjoyed a very comfortable stay. We loved tending to the fires in the evenings!

The large dining room was ideal for our dinner party and murder mystery evening, and we enjoyed breakfast outside most mornings. The location is ideal for walking and we were given plenty of information about local amenities and activities, meaning we organised a clay pigeon shoot at a local activity centre and had some fantastic meals at local pubs. Penrith is also nearby so plenty of choice in terms of shopping.

We would highly recommend Lazonby Hall for parties and long weekends and I would certainly not hesitate in staying again.
