Wow – what an amazing property and what amazing people. After being let down by a property we had booked last minute, Ruth & the team saved our weekend. They went out of their way to make sure they could accommodate us so last minute (on the day!) We have nothing bad to say. Beautiful house, lovely location, swimming pool & games room were a bonus! Anything we needed help with they were there to assist straight away. We can’t thank you enough. Highly recommend and we will most definitely be back. Louise & Family. X

My daughter recently had this as her venue and guest accomadation for the entire weekend What a beautiful venue . Absolutely stunning safe environment for all family members. This is a top class venue . Wheelchair accessible to a degree The wheelchair with a little detour could use all areas My only 1 feed back is shame they didn’t have a wheelchair accessible room this would made it 5*. The toilets were lovely and accessible to a wheelchair but no hand rails so the person needed another person to accompany them to help

Done a pre visit, for our weekend trip next year and it was very impressive! Clean, well maintained, and a clam aura. Ruth was amazing whilst showing us round. Can’t wait to go next year.

Great place for a family gathering. With caterers brought in 40 people can be accommodated. Large lounges allow different groups to meet and chat.

Such a wonderful location for a big celebration. Lovely dining hall, big high ceiling rooms. The house is lovely, beds super comfy, kitchen has everything you need for large scale catering, or even just making a cuppa and a bacon sarnie for yourself. Ruth was super helpful, even when we left our glitterball there they helped us get it couriered back with patience and understanding.

Stunning location. We have hired for a wedding in 2023 and visited twice to view rooms and discuss wedding. Always extremely helpful. The whole place is very well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Hired the whole House for a week over Christmas. This was for the Second Time. Thoroughly recommend Knowle Manor, such helpful and friendly owners. Will consider booking again in a few years, my family of 40 may have grown by then.

We have just returned from spending Christmas at Knowle Manor. Ruth, Helen and the team we’re very helpful and made us feel very welcome. This is the second time we have spent Christmas at the Manor and it really makes Christmas so magical. The house is clean and has everything you need to cater for a large group of people. We had a group of 41 ranging from 7 months old up to 93 years old and it was perfect for everyone. Would definitely recommend ⭐️ — with Samantha Cobbold and 3 others.

My husband and I don’t even know where to begin to describe how amazing Knowle Manor is. We spent a year planning our wedding weekend here and Ruth and the team were very accommodating throughout our entire journey. The feedback we had for our guests and our suppliers/services was phenomenal about Knowle Manor. Not only are the views outstanding and the bedrooms immaculate, but the whole milieu of the manor makes you feel like you are royalty whilst in a friendly and engaging environment. We had 9 children at our wedding and a highlight for us was not having to worry about them at any given time, they had the freedom to explore within the safety of the Manor. They got to be adventurous as every child should be. Ruth’s expertise led us to hiring the best caterers for the weekend and no matter how bizarre a request we put to her, she welcomed with open arms. On the Friday night it was great to see friends catching up or others making new friends whilst playing pool/table tennis, enjoying a dip in the pool, relaxing in the bar or enjoying the warmth of the fire pit. Then on the Saturday we got to celebrate in the ultimate wedding elegance of the Palm House after a beautiful outdoor ceremony by the river. We would recommend everyone book this venue for family gatherings, parties, weddings etc as you cannot be disappointed but the facilities on offer.

Just celebrated a friends 60th birthday with a weekend at Knowle Manor. The weekend exceeded our expectations. Ruth and her team were wonderful from our initial enquiry to the actual event. The level of customer service went above and beyond.

There was 36 of us and it was a perfect number. We self catered on the first evening using the commercial kitchen and had a hog roast recommended by Ruth on the second night. We danced until midnight on the lawn then moved inside to the spacious bar area.

Great value for money for a big group. Suited us perfectly. Couldn’t recommend more highly

Lovely residence. Facilities were great, including a lovely swimming pool. On the doorstep of the lovely trails and footpaths around Exmoor.

Only a 4/5 because the 1st floor bedroom windows are not at all baby safe – they open very wide with no tether with a large and low window sill, making the window pretty hazardous for small children. The bedroom was very warm even in April.

We can't thank Ruth and the staff at Knowle Manor enough for all their efforts and hard work in contributing to the most magical of wedding weekends. Our wedding celebrations surpassed all hope and expectation! We found the team at Knowle Manor open and easy to deal with from our first enquiry. Upon our first visit we totally fell in love with the venue and found everyone to be extremely warm, welcoming and helpful. In the lead up to our big day they always found time to respond to our emails and speak with us over the phone, helping with advice and recommendations wherever they could. This help was very gratefully received, especially as we live in Sweden so we were planning from afar. The Manor and grounds are absolutely beautiful and extremely well kept. The cleanliness of the entire place is of a very high standard and therefore, it was an absolute pleasure hosting all our loved ones there for a weekend of wedding shenanigans. Useful to know if considering Knowle Manor as your wedding vebue: Staff for the wedding day – We used Jo Kelly and her team and we found them not only to be professional and hard working, but also friendly and alot of fun. Highly recommended! Caterer – we used Linda Pugsley and her team, another very professional, friendly and hard working bunch. I chose Linda as she was extremely helpful and confident with my desire to have a good selection of vegan food on our big day, and the food that she served was absolutely fantastic! Our friends and family are still talking about it now (3 weeks after the event). Hot, tasty, well-sourced, beautifully presented and plenty of it! Her roast potatoes were to die for!!! Linda and her team came back to do us all a Full English Breakfast the next morning which was exactly what the doctor ordered! Highly recommended! DJ – we used Starturns (Geoff Ryder & Vincent Scott) but would NOT RECOMMEND them. There were several powercuts during the short time we asked them to play, and emanating from that, very negative attitudes. Do not recommend! Florist – we used Tilda Rose who delivered a beautiful and colourful set of bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids. Definitely recommend! All our other suppliers were sourced through friends and family and were not local to the Dunster area. Knowle Manor – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ♥️

Lovely house for a big group to stay. Big professional kitchen that let us easily cook a meal for 30 people and you could do more. There is plenty of room for groups to sit and chat and all 40 of us had dinner together. The bedrooms all pretty much all ensuite with a number of family rooms.

Lots of outside space and visiting the lambs was lovely – very friendly farmer who happy to chat and show us the new lambs.

Don’t over fill the recycling buckets as carrying them at the end of the weekend was a bit of a mission!

This is such a beautiful house and location. I really cannot fault it. Ruth and family are so accomodating.The rooms are all very comfortable and the grounds well kept. In a great location for access to the beach, shops and Exmoor. Only one suggestion. Possibly locks on the bedroom doors. It was a nightmare making the baby nap with lots and lots of kids there !

Fabulous place. It was perfect. A must if yiu are considering this place for a gathering.

There were 48 of us and I think it's fair to say we had a brilliant time, and will probably Facebook for our next reunion in 4 years time, though they may need an extension built as the clan is growing.

38 of us stayed here, what a beautiful place to stay.The owner is lovely showed us around and then left us to it which was perfect left us her number just incase we needed anything.From the swimming pool to the pool room and self serving bar perfect party house would highly recommend to anyone 5 stars xx

we had our 25th wedding anniversary here in 2013, it was a perfect location, what you see on the website is what you get intact the bedrooms were better! very warm and heated pool was a bonus, great location to occupy various needs of our group, highly recommend and will revisit one day !

I would like to say a big ‘thank-you’ to all at Knowle Manor for hosting our wedding in September 2015. Throughout the planning process, Ruth answered numerous emails promptly and helpfully, and allowed my husband and I to make several visits to the Manor. Over the three days that we rented the Manor, Ruth and her team did everything possible to ensure that things ran smoothly, and that every request was met without question. All of our guests adored the Manor, and we loved the fact that we were able to accommodate everyone under one roof. Overall, the highest praise I can give is that we would not have changed a single thing, and no-one who attended our wedding could think of a better place for us to hold it.

We had our wedding at the beautiful Knowle Manor in September. Thanks to Ruth, Jo and everyone else who made it such an amazing weekend.
