The splendour of historic Suffolk is beautifully embodied by Crow’s Hall – a magnificent Grade II* listed redbrick hall surrounded by 400 acres of private farmland. This moated manor combines the romance of Tudor architecture with the comfort and style of a contemporary country retreat. The hall sits on its own private island, reached by a striking four-arch footbridge that spans the scenic moat and creates a true sense of arrival.

Whether you are seeking a peaceful holiday, family gathering, or countryside escape, or planning a bespoke wedding, Crow’s Hall offers complete privacy across the hall, its moated island, and the immediate gardens and grounds. Guests have the exclusive use of this tranquil setting, immersing themselves in its timeless atmosphere where every moment feels special.

At the heart of the estate lies the enchanting Tudor Long Barn, renowned for its vast proportions, high timbered ceiling, and superb acoustics. Able to host up to 300 standing guests, the barn provides a rustic yet elegant setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, or large gatherings. Marquee hire and luxury glamping village options extend the celebration outdoors, creating a seamless flow between the historic and the natural.

Crow’s Hall’s gardens are equally captivating, designed as a series of outdoor “rooms” with their own character – from the historic Tudor knot garden and peaceful pool garden to the contemporary sculpture courtyard. Each offers a stunning backdrop for photographs, relaxation, or alfresco celebrations.

The manor house itself blends heritage and luxury, ensuring guests experience the charm of a bygone era with all modern comforts. Every detail has been thoughtfully preserved and enhanced, making it an exceptional venue for both elegant events and restful stays.

Guests can enjoy scenic walks, peaceful gardens, and equestrian-friendly grounds, offering a true taste of Suffolk’s countryside life. Whether you come for a celebration, a family gathering, or simply to escape the everyday, Crow’s Hall provides a private haven of space, beauty, and calm.

Exclusive hire is available year-round for a minimum of three nights, allowing guests to enjoy the hall, its moated island, and immediate gardens and grounds in complete privacy. Whether you are booking for a peaceful holiday, family gathering, or countryside escape, or if you are choosing to have your wedding here, guests can celebrate, relax, and unwind in style – your stay or event, your way, without the constraints of a typical venue.

Wedding licence pending (ready for Spring 2026) – until then, Crow’s Hall happily hosts blessings, commitment ceremonies, and symbolic unions, with close ties to nearby churches and registry offices for legal ceremonies.

Exclusive use rates are available on request, with tailored options for more intimate celebrations also offered.

House Fact

According to local legends, a location in close proximity to the Crow’s Hall estate known as ‘Blood Field’ was the site of an early battle. Speculation has even suggested that it was where the Anglo-Saxons battled the Danes in AD 870, following which King Edmund was killed and martyred, later to be enshrined at Beodricsworth now Bury St Edmunds – and for some period, recognised as the patron saint of England.

Edmund's Choice of Extraordinary Feature

“Crow’s Hall sits on its own island, in a moat, reached by a four-arch footbridge. You arrive via a half-mile avenue of double oaks. Caroline’s restored it beautifully, with gardens by Xa Tollemache laid out as a series of ‘rooms’. The Tudor Long Barn alongside is the longest in Suffolk and seats 300 for a wedding.”

Our daughter’s wedding here, over 3 days, was the best it could possibly be. The dream. Caroline and her team were all fantastic. She is helpful, flexible and generous with her time, and also very chilled about everything which is exactly what you need when planning a wedding and something is forgotten. When she found out the pre-wedding venue had let us down at the last minute she immediately jumped in with somewhere we could use instead. Thank you so much.

I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at the very picturesque Crows Hall.

With its stunning views and countryside setting, Crows Hall is the perfect place to hold the celebration of a lifetime. Couples can make the most of the surroundings, while their guests can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space to mingle. As a venue, Crows Hall is completely accommodating, offering everything you could possibly need… A clean, modern, and timeless ceremony space and a beautiful barn for the wedding breakfast, speeches & party.

From a photography perspective – it does not get more beautiful than this. Including, the romantic moated manor house to its beautiful gardens – Crows Hall, offers stunning views of surrounding countryside and so many photo opportunities to truly make your day unique!!!

I have had the pleasure of photographing a wedding here, and I am very impressed by how beautiful the venue is and how well it is managed. Whether you are looking for a traditional or modern wedding, Crows Hall is the ideal choice.

We couldn’t have lucked out more having our wedding at Crows Hall. Not only is it a gorgeous venue, with a stunning barn and beautiful gardens in a dreamy setting, but Caroline is amazing. She has huge kindness, warmth and positivity and just made us feel like anything was possible. She recommended suppliers and ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day, but she also did so much more than that. She made us feel so at home and was even on hand to make a tea to an early rising camper!

We made full use of all of the lovely venue – with our ceremony in the gardens, reception and dancing in the barn, and dinner in a marquee. We also had a glamping village for guests. There aren’t many places that you can create a festival like this and it really was so special. We couldn’t recommend highly enough.

We had our wedding here and it is an absolutely stunning venue. Caroline went above and beyond for us, it really was the best day. As the bride I felt incredibly at home.

I am in the service industry myself and deal with difficult clients regularly, but dealing with brides regularly requires the patience of a saint (I had the odd bridezilla moment) and Caroline was excellent.

I still find myself daydreaming at the pictures now it really is the best venue we saw and I’m so glad we chose to have our wedding at Crows Hall.

What a lovely place, the grounds are amazing with such well kept gardens. The host is most welcoming. Would highly recommend this unique gem.
