On the Kintyre Peninsula, Balinakill Country House is a stunningly restored Victorian manor that’s a fantastic venue for gatherings. The house has thirteen thoughtfully designed bedrooms, each with a mix of double, king-size, and twin beds and a separate bathroom. It can accommodate up to thirty people. Families will find great comfort in the two family-friendly rooms and the children’s play area.

The property has three well-appointed reception rooms, each with a separate area for various purposes and moods. The two fully functional kitchens make meal planning simple. For formal gatherings, the dining room can accommodate up to 24 people. The gun-room bar is one unique element that adds character to the establishment and makes it a sophisticated spot to hang out at night.

The outdoor spaces have been thoughtfully designed to maximise the property’s natural environment. A large terrace area with barbecue facilities is the ideal location for outdoor parties. The seven acres of grounds provide ample space for exploring and outdoor activities, and a recently installed hot tub allows you to unwind all year round.

We had an amazing 5 days, my wife Frances and my Tim’s, golden wedding anniversary, March 2026, Family and Friends came from all over to join us. Thursday a few of us setting in then everyone else arriving Friday morning. Filled all the bedrooms, the Grandchildren though they were at Hogworts we arranged brilliant caterers who looked after us the whole time. Friday evening a wonderful candlelit formal dinner in the Victorian dining room, (sorry for the burn marks on the sideboard…) Kilts were worn. Saturday a barbecue and buffet with lots plus 40 of friends from Kilberry and the surrounding area joining us and a amazing Ceilidh band playing the night away , last of us left the bar about 3:00 am. Very slow start to Sunday. Balinakill an amazing place to celebrate.

Balinakill is a magical place. I have hosted several yoga retreats here and it is always reliably amazing! My guests and I love the house, each rooms special touches. The staff are super helpful and understand our needs, preparing everything in advance. It’s a really unique place, in a beautiful setting, that immediately let’s you feel at peace.

We unfortunately didn’t get to go through with the plans we had at Balinakill Country House due to a change in personal circumstances, but we were able to visit the house for a tour and it is so full of charm, character, and has such a lovely genuine yet extravagant and fabulous feel about it. Ann has been incredibly helpful and generous with information throughout. I’m very sad our event can’t go ahead but would very highly recommend others to consider Balinakill Country House as a venue for their special event.

Amazing house in a beautiful location. We had the whole place to ourselves and it works great as self catering. Based on communication with the owners, I’ve no doubt they would put on top notch service too. White tailed eagles were spotted on morning runs that I was too ‘tired’ to attend. We will be back!

Glorious Manor House you can rent for a weekend party. Lovey building and gardens. Magical place for a DIY wedding or significant birthday bash.

We had a fantastic weekend at Balinakill. It’s an amazing venue in an amazing location. There were 20 of us there for a stag do and everyone was blown away by the setup. The cosy bar was a particular highlight.

The rooms were all brilliant and the facilities were very clean. Ann was also super helpful. If you are a big group I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Will hopefully return at some point in the future.

DJ’d here in the summer, outside in a marquee until 11pm. Friendly staff and great vibes and experience for everyone. Would highly recommend

We have stayed at Balinakill twice now – once when we got married (2015) and again in the summer of 2024 to celebrate our 40th birthdays.

Balinakill is a rare gem – it’s a gorgeous and very impressive house with lots of character that is well equipped and practical with lots of lovely touches to make for a perfect stay.

Every room is stunning (and has an en suite) which means no guests will ever ‘draw the short straw’ in terms of room allocation. The communal spaces are amazing and offer lots of variety depending on the mood or planned activity. We particularly love the gorgeous, light upstairs living room, the cosy downstairs living room with an open fire, the hot tub and the bar.

The facilities are spot on with two excellent kitchens, thoughtfully equipped, and a laundry room. The downstairs loos are also super handy for those with younger kids.

Balinakill is HUGE! There is space for big and varied groups to spend time together or do their own thing.

And the grounds….well they are just perfect. So much space to play games and just be outdoors.

Lots of parking space is also available which is so handy for a big group.

We were a little apprehensive about hosting 27 people for a week but Balinakill provides the perfect space to be our HQ and made cooking for, entertaining and looking after everyone a piece of cake (relatively speaking!)

Ann and the team are super helpful and responsive with good communication and system and processes to make things run smoothly.

This is a very special and totally unique house and we can’t recommend it enough.

Shared a special birthday with friends in this lovely house.

We were lucky enough to spend two wonderful vacations in lovely Balinakill. Both we fabulous. The first time was a family reunion, and everyone found something fine to do everyday. The second time we took a group of our American friends who for the most part had not been to Scotland before. The warmth of the house, the en-suite bathrooms for all rooms, the friendliness and quality of the staff, and the location on the Kyntire peninsula made for a perfect stay both times.

This is a brilliant place to stay for big groups of people. I definitely recommend it. It’s a beast of a journey when the weather is rough but I’ve only ever been during the autumn season. I bet it’s a 5 star in the summer.

Leslie Cheyne

Such a beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Everything was perfect for my daughter’s wedding.

Our extended multigenerational family found Balinakill perfect for our get together. The property is clean, well maintained and furnished, with plenty of living/entertainment space and generous bedrooms for all 24 members of our group. Balinakill is very comfortable and Ann and the team have paid attention to every detail – we particularly liked the beautiful fresh flower arrangements in every room. The gardens are lovely. With a snooker table/table tennis/games/bluetooth speakers the younger generation were happy and we all enjoyed the hot tub and Sky TV/Sports. Nearby there are some fantastic beaches, walks and places to eat, such as the Skipness Seafood Cabin and The Boat House on Gigha. We really enjoyed our week here and would thoroughly recommend Balinakill.

Amazing place to stay. Beautiful and very clean.

We booked our wedding at Balinakill expecting to have 140 people there in May 2020, however, with the crazy recent events we had to wait another year and reduce the numbers to 14. Throughout all of the stress Ann and everyone at Balinakill were so kind and willing to help with any changes we needed to make and in the end we had an incredible weekend. The house itself is beautiful, each room has its own little bit of charm. The gardens are just lovely to relax in, especially when we we were feeling a little worse for wear the next day! Uta the housekeeper was amazing, thanks so much for everything Uta! We will definitely be coming back seeing as we didn’t get round to trying the hot tub! I would definitely recommend Balinakill for any large group get together or event and their list of suppliers was so helpful, thanks!
