House Facts

Plas Dinam was designed and built in 1873 by London-based architect, W.E. Nesfield for his client, Captain Offley Crewe-Read. The house was sold in 1884 to David Davies, an admirable Victorian entrepreneur, who made his fortune in the railway and mining industries. Two of his descendants - Gwendoline and Margaret Davies - went on to become great art patrons, establishing collections of Welsh, and national, importance. The property remains in the Davies' family.
