What an unbelievable venue! Thicket Priory was the venue for our wedding in April and honestly it was the such a special place to get married…the chapel, ballroom, grounds, & accommodation offered so much for us with numbers in excess of 100 guests. We also stayed the night before our wedding, making the most of an exceptional venue. Additionally, the staff were all amazing in ensuring every guest had the best day possible. Becks was our wedding planner and we cannot stress how brilliant she was in ensuring everything went to plan. She was so attentive from our first meeting and made it an easy decision to choose Thicket Priory with it being the only place we could see ourselves getting married.

The biggest compliment we can pay is to say that so many guests commented on the venue, saying how stunning it was. We were blessed with great weather but we are certain that even without this, the day would have still been just as good.

Words can’t do justice to how good the day was but one thing is for sure…we will never regret having our wedding at Thicket Priory.

5 Stars – Thicket Priory is a phenomenal place to get married. The venue itself is stunning; the building and the grounds are gorgeous. It succeeds at being elegant and grand without a hint of pretentiousness or ostentation.

The team at Thicket are second to none. The care and attention to detail they took made our weekend feel all the more special. We really appreciated their recommended suppliers selection, and the care they had taken to curate this list. It made our experience planning even easier.

Special thanks to Anna for making us feel incredibly comfortable and supported for the 12 months prior, and from all our guest who mentioned how excellent she was. We wish we could do it all again!

We cannot recommend Thicket Priory enough! From the moment we first visited we knew it was the place — no other venue came close. It has such a special atmosphere, and we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. The venue itself is absolutely perfect, and everything about it made our celebration feel unique and memorable. They let us put our own spin on things but made sure it was going to work and supported us wherever we needed it. The staff went above and beyond in every way, and a special mention has to go to Becca. She not only made everything run so seamlessly and stress-free, but she genuinely cared about us and our day. That meant so much, and it really wouldn’t have been the same without her. We’d be here forever if we listed everything that she/the team at Thicket did – and we probably don’t even know half of it. We’re so grateful for everything, it was more than we could have ever hoped for – best weekend ever! X

From our very first visit to Thicket Priory when Becca was there to greet us and show us around, we knew we’d found our venue and were in the very best of hands. Becca and the team were all exceptionally professional, responsive and a genuine pleasure to work with throughout the lead up to the wedding (15 months for us). Nothing was ever too much trouble – and a customer-first ethos shines through from everyone that works there.

Becca’s genuine care and focus on making our day the best it could be was evident from the start and we now consider that we gained a friend (something we never intended!). We’re a middle-aged couple, neither of us had been married before (nor expected to be!) and whilst we had firm views about what we didn’t want, we needed help to guide us to what we did! Becca really listened to what was important to us while confidently guiding us with her expertise and experience, liaising directly with our suppliers as needed to ensure everything went to plan – she is an absolute asset to Thicket Priory!

On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly – I don’t think we had one guest who didn’t know who Becca was – she was there for everyone without ever being asked, e.g. providing a ‘game-changing’ chat for my brother before his speech (completely off her own initiative which he will be forever grateful for).

The venue itself is absolutely spectacular and it’s no exaggeration to say that all of our guests were ‘wowed’ by what the team achieved for our wedding. We had a weekend celebration and from the time we arrived on Friday to when we departed on Sunday (with a car (mainly packed by Becca!?)) the team were 1000% there for us and we felt completely supported from start to finish.

I have only been in once to sing with my choir at Christmas but this is a stunning wedding venue that we managed to look round. Its a beautiful beautiful building set in wonderful grounds.

Thicket Priory was the most incredible venue for our wedding in December 2025. From start to finish, everything was seamless and genuinely exceeded our expectations. The venue itself is stunning, and the whole day ran so smoothly that we were able to relax and fully enjoy it. The suppliers Thicket Priory recommended were all fabulous — professional, talented, and a perfect fit for what we wanted — which made planning so much easier and far less stressful. A special mention has to go to Lil, the wedding coordinator, who was honestly more than we could ever have asked for. She had brilliant ideas to guide us without ever being pushy, she really listened and understood our vision, and she brought such empathy and reassurance throughout the process. On the day she was calm, in control, and a total miracle worker — making sure everything happened exactly as it should, without us having to worry about a thing. We would absolutely recommend Thicket Priory to anyone looking for a wedding venue. It was amazing from start to finish.

We had a joint 60th / 30th birthday celebration at Thicket Priory in October and had an absolutely amazing time. Every bedroom is wonderfully appointed, the staff were superb and the food was out of this world. The whole experience felt like a House Party from the 1920’s, straight out of Downton Abbey. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Thicket Priory truly beat every expectation we had and more. From the very start, the whole process felt effortless, helped hugely by their excellent suggested vendors. Lil was incredible throughout — so down to earth, supportive, and genuinely lovely that by the end of the process she felt more like a friend than a coordinator. No idea was too whacky; everything we suggested was met with enthusiasm and a real “let’s do it” attitude. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, the organisation seamless, and the entire experience was joyful rather than stressful. We couldn’t recommend Thicket Priory more highly.

From the moment we walked into Thicket Priory, saw the venue and met Becca and the team, we knew instantly that this was where we would have the most amazing day.

Everything ran like clockwork from start to finish, and we were made to feel so welcome and so well looked after throughout the entire process. The venue itself is absolutely stunning — full of character, magic, charm, and such a special atmosphere. The onsite bedrooms are beautiful and were a real highlight for us and our guests.

Becca (our Thicket Priory Wedding Coordinator) was absolutely amazing from day one; she is truly born to do what she does. Her care, organisation, and attention to detail made the day completely stress-free and perfect.

Recently visited Thicket Priory for the first time & would highly recommend for weddings and events. Impressively grand from the outside, it still feels cosy and intimate inside which is such a lovely mix for groups of people staying. The team were welcoming, warm and very efficient too!

We had our wedding at Thicket Priory in September and cannot recommend Lily and the entire team highly enough. From our very first visit, Lily was incredible — we were completely sold not only on the stunning venue but on the amazing people who work there.

Thicket Priory itself is absolutely beautiful, with each room being unique and thoughtfully designed. One of the most special parts of the experience was being able to have our family and friends stay for the full weekend. Everyone was so well looked after, and it created such a relaxed and memorable atmosphere.

Our guests arrived on the Friday from 3pm, and the bar staff were attentive and welcoming throughout the afternoon and evening. We hosted a pub quiz in the bar that night, which was a brilliant way to kick off the weekend and made everyone feel at home straight away.

We used Hog and Apple for our catering and the food was outstanding — so many of our guests commented on how much they loved it.

Lily ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish, coordinating all of the suppliers and offering refreshingly honest, helpful advice throughout the planning process, on the wedding day itself, and right through to checkout on the Sunday. Even when there were small hiccups (as expected with any large event), Lily remained calm and made sure we were informed; without ever letting it become a worry for us and most importantly, going totally un-noticed by our guests.

Thanks to Lily and the team, the entire weekend had such a calm, fun and light atmosphere. It truly was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding, and we are so grateful to everyone at Thicket Priory for making it so special.

Thicket Priory was the perfect venue for our wedding! From the moment we first visited we fell in love with the building and its beautiful, quirky features. Everything about the venue is so gorgeous that we didn’t need to over-decorate as we wanted the venue itself to shine and it truly did. From start to finish Lil and the team were incredibly helpful, professional and attentive, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. On the day they felt more like part of the wedding party than just the venue team, which made everything feel even more special. The house is absolutely stunning, with every room beautifully decorated, making it the perfect backdrop for our big day. One of the things we loved most was how we could make the venue our own for the whole weekend. With the house being so spacious and inviting, it was incredible to have all our loved ones stay with us. The pantries are stocked full of treats and the cozy atmosphere made the whole experience feel so intimate and relaxed, and it truly set the tone for our wedding.

Lil, our coordinator, was an absolute star throughout the entire process. She was always there to answer any questions we had, and she suggested thoughtful details we hadn’t even considered, making everything that much more personal. On the wedding day, she went above and beyond, from setting up all our props (photo frames, pick and mix station, beer pong, guest book, etc.) to packing it all away the next morning. She made everything seamless and stress-free.

The venue was also perfect for some pre-wedding fun. We played cricket in the grounds on the Friday evening, and it was such a relaxed and fun way to kick off the weekend. Thicket Priory really offers the best of both worlds, it’s a relaxed, intimate setting for a wedding, but with a fun and lively atmosphere.

Lil completely “got” George and I and understood the vibe we wanted, and she helped us make everything run smoothly, from start to finish. She made the whole process feel effortless and was such a pleasure to work with.

If you’re looking for a venue that feels like home but still offers a stunning and unique place for your wedding, Thicket Priory is the place to be. With Lil’s amazing coordination and the charm of the house, it truly was the perfect setting for our special day, and we’re so grateful for everything she did to make it all come together! It was a weekend that we will never forget with memories we will cherish forever.

Magical. Fairytale weddings are their speciality. The en suite retiring rooms are well appointed comfortable and really nice. The terrace is ideal for a band and lots of outdoor folk. The grounds are very interesting. No marmalade for breakfast though, despite one of Britain’s best marmalade makers being in a farmhouse nearby !!!

From my very first call with Anna, all the way from Costa Rica, I just knew Thicket Priory was the one. Even before I saw it in person, which wasn’t until two months before the wedding, Anna made me feel incredibly welcome and provided me with everything I needed to feel confident and excited. The way she described the venue, like it was your own home and you were inviting your loved ones in to celebrate, really stuck with me, and that is exactly how it felt.

One of the best things about Thicket is that the venue comes with a wedding coordinator, and I was lucky enough to have Anna. From the very beginning, she felt less like a coordinator and more like a friend, guiding me through every step, answering all my questions, and making sure I felt completely taken care of. During our stay, she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and it honestly could not have gone better.

The venue itself is truly magical. The lake, the grounds, the bedrooms, the décor, everything was beyond stunning. There were so many details that meant our guests were never trying to find something to do — secret doors, hidden corners, and little magical touches everywhere. Having 35 bedrooms on site made it extra special because all our family and the wedding party could stay together without worrying about transport. We also loved being able to use different ceremony spaces, each one gorgeous in its own way.

Our wedding was pure magic from start to finish. I could go on for days, but I am honestly lost for words at how incredible this venue is and how it made my dream wedding come to life. Thank you so much to the whole team and especially Anna, who is absolutely incredible. Maybe I am biased, but I truly believe this is the best wedding venue out there!

As a wedding videographer I love filming weddings at Thicket Priory. As a venue it is stunning, but the main reason is that Anna and the team are so friendly and great to work with and it is always a pleasent experience. They are so attentive to details and are on hand to help. I’ve spoken to Brides and Grooms who have been very complimentary about the venue.

I am very late in sharing this review, so my apologies to the Thicket team! We got married in August 2024 at Thicket and it was wonderful. We knew it was the right venue for us immediately – we cancelled all of our other bookings straight away! It was stylish and had such a lovely feel about it and I loved that our closest friends and family could stay for the weekend. Each room is so gorgeous and everyone loved staying. The staff at Thicket are AMAZING – particularly Anna, our wedding coordinator. Nothing was too much trouble for her and we are so grateful. All of the suppliers Thicket recommended were excellent too – especially James Tracey, the videographer and the florist Mint and Moose. Thank you again Thicket for such a special experience. The most amazing wedding venue with the most amazing staff! Big shout out to Becca your amazing!!

This venue was perfect for us as we had family coming from everywhere so the many rooms were perfect! It also created the atmosphere of exactly what we wanted, a home away from home feel having a wedding centered around, family, love, happiness and joy!!

With the many places to get married we could easily have plan B’s for bad weather and also have lots of places to host lots of events throughout the wedding weekend.

This place is truly spectacular and will always have a place in our heart along side the amazing staff that made our weekend! Xx

My Husband and I are wedding photographers/videographers and we shot a wedding here this weekend for the first time. We’ve been to a lot of venues in the area over the years but we were so impressed by this place we just had to leave a review. The whole place is stunning, has quirky decor and is kept immaculate, but we also have to give a shoutout to the amazing general manager Anna and her team because they were so excellent and lovely to work with. They are efficient and organised but NOT at the expense of ruining the day. Always super friendly and helpful even towards the end of the day when we’re all getting a bit shattered! Hope we get to work there again soon 🙂

As soon as we drove down the driveway of Thicket Priory we knew we needed to book it as our wedding venue, the grounds, the house and all of the finishing touches to the whole venue make it feel like home as soon as you arrive. We were lucky to get Becca as our coordinator, we could not have asked for anyone better. Becca, you made our wedding magical from start to finish. I didn’t worry about anything as I knew you had everything under control. We booked for the whole weekend, if you are considering this I couldn’t recommend it more. It’s worth everything having everyone you love in the most beautiful venue in the world for a whole weekend. We had the added luxury of Bex when we arrived for our wedding, Bex and Becca are a dream team and make your set up process seamless. Our 2 evenings at Thicket were fantastic and they supported us to make the nights just how we wanted them. Maggie was fantastic at arranging everything and putting everything in place on the evening. I haven’t got over how spectacular Thicket Priory, and the whole team are. We couldn’t thank you more. Thicket Priory is beyond 5 stars, it’s hard to even review a place which is so perfect.
