Landed Houses guests have exchanged over 80 messages with Stillwaters House in the last 12 months.
One of the best examples of 1950s architectural innovation is Stillwaters House. It is ideally situated on the brink of the glistening lakes of Avington Fishery in Hampshire. This stunning piece of glass and steel art can accommodate 14 guests in seven opulent ensuite suites, all thoughtfully designed to maximise the spectacular views of the surrounding lakes and countryside. The property’s design emphasises the transition between indoor and outdoor areas through the use of glass and open-plan layouts. There are unobstructed views everywhere, and the ceilings are double-height.
One of the property’s three distinct dining areas is a gorgeous outdoor space with a dramatically drooping roof. Because of this, it’s excellent for eating and entertaining. The interior areas have been thoughtfully planned to maintain the property’s architectural integrity and eye-catching appearance while being comfortable and functional.
In addition to lawns for sunbathing and areas for various activities, there are private heated lakeside swimming pools, hot tubs, and outdoor fire pits. Those who enjoy the water can row on the lake, fly fish, or paddle board. The area is also full of places to bike and walk. Archery, wine tasting, swimming in the wild, and clay pigeon shooting are among the activities available to visitors because the property is connected to Avington Park.
Stillwaters House was designed to offer a unique and unforgettable experience, blending stunning architecture with useful luxury and outdoor entertainment opportunities.
Stillwaters House is perfectly located just off the M3, on the outskirts of Winchester. Guests driving from London can reach the property in around 90 minutes, or take a train from Waterloo followed by a short taxi ride to arrive in under two hours. The coast is also within easy reach, with Southampton and Portsmouth nearby for shopping, dining, and exploring sights like the Historic Dockyard.
For a bit more adventure, guests can hop on the hovercraft at Portsmouth Harbour to the Isle of Wight for even more beaches and beautiful coastal scenery. The Hampshire countryside surrounding the house offers excellent walking and cycling routes, blending luxury living with a touch of outdoor adventure.
From 2024, Stillwaters House will be licensed for weddings. The stunning lakeside setting, sleek modern design, and spacious entertaining areas offer a spectacular backdrop for couples looking to celebrate in style. Whether hosting an intimate gathering or a stylish celebration, the house provides a one-of-a-kind venue for a truly memorable day.

“The scale of the place. The photos don’t really capture just how big, bright and achingly stylish this house is, from the smallest design cue, to those endless epic curtains. Amazing doesn’t do it justice!”
