Springkell is a privately owned Scottish country house, with a beautiful Georgian façade – a fine example of Palladian architecture. It’s perfect for special celebrations, parties, weddings, and corporate use, and is fully refurbished (there were 2 bathrooms, now 24!).
The main house sleeps 49, in 21 bedrooms, which include a very special Master Bedroom and two family bedrooms. All of the rooms are en-suite.
Should you need extra space for guests, there are three two-bedroom self-catering cottages close to the house that sleep 17. Chauffeur’s Cottage sleeps four, and so does Kennel Cottage (which is a bungalow, should any of your guests wish to avoid stairs). Stables Cottage sleeps three people in two bedrooms. Each also has a sofa bed in the sitting room for extra guests.
The main house and cottages can sleep up to 66 guests in total.

The house was originally built in 1734 and the ceiling in the ballroom was decorated by the same company that made the interiors of the Titanic.

We stayed in one of the self-catering cottages and enjoyed breakfast in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Springkell is a very special place surrounded by lovely countryside. Was nice to be able to enjoy the hotel's bar and games facilities in the evenings.

A great base for us to explore the area, easy to get to. We stayed in the Kennel Cottage It was so quiet surrounded by trees, a clear sky at night we could see the milky way. A proper breakfast set us up for the day, the staff looked after us perfectly, many thanks. Would love to stay again next time I visit Scotland.

Attended for friends wedding. Lovely grand house/hotel, with beautiful grounds. Could be a gold mine. Could do with a small dedicated/signposted car park as was driving around allover looking for one. The reception area could use a sign and a bell if not going to be manned. As when arrived we weren't sure where it was and ended up wandering around looking for someone to check us in. Also, it could do with a cleaner going in on a regular occurrence as dirty/dusty, quite a few people had mentioned this. It is a handsome building and could be so much more. The husband mentioned maybe a driving range off the back where there is a lot of rough (depending who owns the land.)

This place is so beautiful. I came the other weekend for my aunties wedding and it was so great! The food was amazing, the actual place is just so great I can't even begin to describe it. It makes you feel like royalty. I was staying In a cottage which was absolutely amazing but I spent quite alot of time in the main area too. I have linked some pictures. I absolutely loved it.

Excellent overnight stay! We booked last minute when we realised we wouldn't make it to our intended destination as planned. Despite this we had a great experience at Springkell and will definitely go back when we are in the area. The room was incredibly comfortable, clean and cosy with a good sized bathroom. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and keen to help. Idyllic country setting for a fantastic stay!

We stopped here on a trip from Glasgow to Leicester to break up the trip and we were so pleased we did. The evening dinner was so tasty, the service friendly and relaxed and the breakfast in the morning was just as good. The rooms are quaint and well kept and the beds are like sleeping on clouds!

Wow, wow and wow. This place is stunning, the staff are awesome and the food top notch, the chef even got my steak right, no mean feat let me tell you. Nestled in acres of beautiful woodland is this absolutely stunning place. We can't believe the bargain we got it for and certainly didn't expect to find such a gem in the middle of nowhere. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. If we're ever back up this way we'll absolutely be stopping here again. Thanks team Springkell for a great stay.

A true hidden gem of Scotland! We were returning to the Highlands after a long road trip to Wales and needed a place to stay to break up the journey.We were so very lucky to come across Springkell, where we received such a warm welcome pretty late at night and were still served a delicious three-course meal with all the finery.The property is frankly incredible, spread over 100 acres and it was a shame that we only have the single night there, as we all agreed we needed at least 24 hours to enjoy the property to its fullest.The breakfast every morning is also filing and a great way to start the day.Long story short, very enjoyable and we would happily stay again if passing through the area.

James and his team were fantastic in every way. Our camper van broke down on route and we arrived late at night. They arranged a taxi for us when needed and they stayed up late to serve us dinner. They were so friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The property and the grounds are stunning and we are looking forward to returning again.

Great hotel with peaceful surroundings. I stayed here for one night and I absolutely loved it. The hotel is part of a wider estate with acres of land, surrounded by beautiful gardens and plenty of space to walk and check out the scenery.The hotel itself is fabulous, picture Downton Abbey. The rooms are spacious and modern and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are absolutely fantastic with power showers.When you explore the hotel you feel like you’ve been transported to the 1920s. This is a fantastic place if you just want to relax and explore the acres of land.I highly recommend people to book this hotel. What a gem!

Working in the area, with few options available, checked out Springkell, had a great stay, very relaxing location, fantastic and majestic looking building, with impressive natural surroundings, the staff were very helpful and attentive to detail, responded to our requests prior to arrival from the email sent in advance, provided a well presented and tasty 3 course meal.Well stocked bar and even had a pool table to pass away the evening in its own self contained room. Breakfast was freshly cooked and well presented.

We got married yesterday at Springkell. We would like to thank James and his team who were outstanding in their attention to detail for what we wanted and nothing was too much trouble. The venue is a stunning place and the food is fantastic. We will definitely return in years to come for our anniversaries at this fantastic venue. Our day was superb.

Amazing hotel, very calming and relaxing. Excellent staff, very attentive. Beautiful rooms and gardens , clean and well kept. Old banging windows need a towel stuffed in them at night to get any sleep but understandable considering the age of the place. Wouldn't put me off. Food excellent but small portions so order a starter .

What an amazing place. Was made to feel so welcome. The surroundings are outstanding. I was at an all day wedding and was there from 2pm till 12.15. Canopies, a full 3 course meal, and a buffet all served and fantastic food I am a vegetarian. Complements to the chef. Very emotional day could not of been anywhere more suitable. James and his team hosted our wedding and 60th birthday celebration here. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Every single person we dealt with were superb. Including all of the additional people they brought in providing such services as a Piper, fireworks, Celeidh Band , live band and owls! Services were all second to none. The food over the three days was excellent. We took over the house and the cottages for three nights and two days and the rooms are all well decorated and all of the public spaces, hall, ballroom , ceremony room and bar are brilliant atmospheric and social areas. We received the same standard welcome each time we visited in preparation for our big event. Staying for one night or three you get the same 6* treatment. Don’t miss out…try it next time you are passing. It’s located close to the main A74 route from England into Scotland so a very convenient place to break a journey into the Highlands. Fantastic place, the views and surroundings are beautiful. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. The bedrooms are gorgeous and very comfortable, hot shower and clean fresh towels every day. The bar has a fantastic selection of drinks and a very welcoming atmosphere. You can watch the TV or play on a games console if that's what you enjoy, also a free pool table. Food is beautiful, breakfast and dinner was superb. 100% will be returning. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Fantastic place to stay. Stunning scenery and superb service. I went to book online but it appeared full, spoke to James who was able to accommodate us even though there was a wedding on. Even hand delivered our food to the cottage. The rooms were great, super comfortable bed and cosy front room with log burner. We are getting married here later in the year and the staff were so lovely they even gave us a tour the next day after the other wedding guest had departed. Really looking forward to visiting again.

James and I chose Springkell for our wedding after just one visit. We fell instantly in love with the beautiful house and grounds. A year later the venue, staff and food exceeded our hopes for the event. We had a lot of folk travelling a long way so Springkell was perfect for a two night get together. We wanted the day before to have a different vibe so had an informal tapas evening. The food was amazing and so much of it. Fantastically great value. So much better than expected.All the food was amazing. The canapes were delicious. The breakfasts and wedding day food all top quality and more than enough for everyone.We can't say enough great things about the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, either on the run up to the wedding or during the two days we were at Springkell. I don't think I have ever experienced such good service anywhere before. The guys all worked so hard and made sure everything worked like clockwork.It really was a perfect wedding and perfect couple of days. We would thoroughly recommend Springkell for any event. Beautiful walks around the grounds too. All our guests were saying the same.James (owner) will tell you that they have had lots of unusual or different requests and will do what they can to make your wedding bespoke and to fit exactly what you want. They 100% follow through on this. We were very exacting on a few things we wanted. This was the first time we had seen a lot of folk for a few years so it meant a lot to us that things were just right and we can't thank Springkell enough for making it happen exactly as we wanted.

Wow! What a stunning location and house. I have just stayed there for a very lively weekend party and the staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating. The food was delicious and my room was fantastic - I have honestly never slept in such a comfortable bed. The owner and his son were really friendly and made our stay fun. Despite the fact that the restoration of this beautiful house is a work in progress, I cannot recommend this venue enough - the pictures do not do it justice and it was a rare opportunity to stay in such a historic and unique house.

The hotel is lovely views are great. But the food was terrible extremely overpriced for was was badly made pub grub. The room was tidy however. Water damage from shower in bathroom due to poor layout. The bed was smashed thought the wall when we arrived and loud creaking when moving in bed. No towls in room when we arrived. We asked for a early breakfast and was provided a table that had been made the night before no water for kettle and warm milk

Springkell House, it’s Management, it’s staff, it’s location, we really can not speak highly enough of this venue!!! Our daughters wedding was simply spectacular!!! Everything the happy couple wanted. James, Fiona & Jill you are all amazing, the chefs, the waitresses, the bar staff, you all made the wedding seem less & stress free for the entire day and night of the wedding, special thanks to Jill & Orla (sorry that will be an incorrect spelling) for making sure we were looked after, fed, that if we needed anything they were there to provide and make things happen. Jill and Fiona helped immensely with our wedding and making sure everything went smoothly leading up to the wedding and on the day. All the ladies who worked at Springkell were also very kind and always smiling.I would highly recommend Sprinkell as your future wedding venue or even for a weekend visit in their rooms. We stayed at Springkell last week for my brother’s wedding. It was magical. The hotel staff were wonderful, welcoming and warm. The setting is beautiful. Our room was sumptuous, light and airy. The en suite was spacious with a superb shower. Nothing was too much trouble, any request was dealt with promptly and with a smile. The food and service were great too. Can’t recommend highly enough!

James and I got married at Springkell on 3rd January. We stayed from 1st to 5th and most of the wedding guests joined us on 2nd January. Our wedding day was magical and we cannot thank James, Fiona, Jill and all the team enough for everything in the lead up to the wedding and on the day itself. Jill in particular deserves a special mention as she was so great the whole time we were at Springkell. It really felt like our home for the time we were there. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and on the day of the wedding itself it was very slick and professional. Jill totally made sure that everything we wanted was taken care of. All of our guests raved about the venue, the setting, the food and the staff. They are so accommodating and even let us have a bouncy castle indoors the night before the wedding for our daughter’s birthday. From our first point of contact with James to the wedding day itself we received nothing short of excellent in terms of customer service. We cannot recommend them highly enough

The owners are very nice people, the staff also very nice. The venue has charm and the rooms are good, shower great, liquid soap in en suite and shower gel, good hot water, TV good, bed excellent . Evening meal was OK but could of been better. Only negatives were roads in were poor and no bottled water and no tissues in rooms (so take your own).Would I go again? Yes, for a quiet weekend away...

We arrived at Springkell as the only guests of the evening. We had a 1734 mansion house to ourselves, which was lovely. Large, clean, comfortable, beautifully-decorated rooms. We had dinner in a grand (huge) dining room, and had our waiter all to ourselves. She also checked us in, and served us at the bar.Springkell is lovely, and it is no surprise it is used so extensively for weddings. It is a truly beautiful setting 8 miles from Gretna Green.Our tip #1: Watch for instructions from James, the owner, on how to find the place. There are five entrances to Springkell, and he'll advise which one to take. Note that there are (were) also roadworks in the area making it even harder to find!

Got married here recently and it was marvelous! The house was elegant, the rooms were comfortable, the views were stunning, and the staff was friendly, especially Jill. I worked with Fiona to plan the event in advance, and she was very informative and helpful. She also worked well with our vendors (celebrant, photographer, baker, florist), including helping us get a hair stylist last-minute. Food was delicious, though we had to double check regarding dietary restrictions. Overall, my wedding felt like a fairy tale, so thank you!

Lovely location, great room & breakfast. the fact our dog was as welcome as us made the difference! Our dog is 11 and pretty much blind so not happy on his own in unfamiliar surroundings. To some the thought of a dog being in the dining room is a no no … (no dogs begging or barking, just happy). if you’re a dog owner (aka fur baby) you know how important & an integral part of your life they are. This is the place that extends the same welcome to you & you doggy.

Lovely, very large hotel in acres of land. Our room was huge, lovely decor. Staff friendly and helpful. Food excellent, although limited at the moment. No fruit or yoghurt at breakfast. Give it a try, what's not to like.

Wonderful location, very quiet and you enter an 18th family estate. Ceilings are 30 ft high and beautifully decorated. The food was reasonable without being spectacular. The staff were ever so friendly, willing and numerous but not particularly effective. Every table at breakfast had to remind the staff they'd forgotten an item. They either need more training or better leadership. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Overall a very interesting and unique experience.

We had a wonderful one night stay in Kennel Cottage at Sprinkell. The cottage was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Staff were fantastic and made us feel really at home. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and there was a great choice. We will hopefully be back for longer next time.

As a small boy , we used to bike down the village and fish at palmersgill bridge at the road end to the “big house”. When it was really bad weather we used to sneak and break into the (empty)gate house lodge and light a fire in the fireplace to keep warm and dry . That was 50 years ago! We were frightened the owners of Springkell would find us and tell us off. We would play for days and days in the woods , building dens.In November 2020 I was working at Carlise Airport for a couple of days and needed somewhere to stay . I found Springkell on google and decided to book in for a couple of nights.Wow what a place - it is like your own private estate . To be fair it’s the year of Covid and there’s not many people about.My wife and I were made very welcome by the young lady on reception, she also worked the bar , served us dinner and it was lovely.We’re silver surfers - who like to travel, we like nice things , we appreciate quality , and this place is tops.The road - well if you’ve never been - you’ll wonder where on earth are you going , up a potholed - mucky , puddly single track long drive . Go slow - take your time and escape, it’s not a premier inn at the side of the motorway , the owner says it will cost a 6 figure amount to tarmac it , but then everyone will fly up the drive and not appreciate what the escape place is all about.We are going there again for New Year- memories !!!

My wife and I stayed for one night, wishing it was for longer as the setting of the house is so quiet and peaceful. Our room (no8) was absolutely amazing, especially the bath(words from my wife).The staff were outstanding and offered any advice to make out stay as comfortable as possible.Lastly the food was amazing, we both had steak, which was cooked to perfection.If you have the chance to stay it is highly recommended.

Very close to Junction 20 of the M74. We have stayed in many places on our regular journeys from the south of England to Scotland, and this is by far our favourite (and will become our regular stop off location). The grounds are large and great for dog walking. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable (especially the very large beds). The food is quick to be served but also tasty. Staff are very attentive - Emma was particularly great. There is a large lounge area as well as a pool table and a bar. The shower/bath had good pressure. Would recommend to anybody with a car for ease of access. Thank you to James and his team!

Wow what an incredible place. After hoteling around the 4 corners of planet Earth, I have seen my fair share of beauty and wonderment. This place only a few hours from our house in the grand scheme of things was absolutely magical and enchanting. The drive through the grounds and over a babbling brook reveal a magnificent stately home. Once inside the decor is very grand and opulent and you are soon met with the warmth and charm of the lovely staff. We had the honey moon sweet as we had just got engaged, the room the view the decor were just to die for. And the food was simply exquisite. We have only been once but we are now regulars as we can’t wait to visit again. Simply beautiful ❤️

Springkell House was the perfect venue for our wedding, we cannot recommend it enough. The owner and his staff made us feel incredibly welcome and they took a lot of the stress from us in preparation of the big day. We just had our wedding here at Springkell and it’s such an amazing venue. We made the right decision 14 months ago! Nothing was too much for James, Fiona, Jill and the rest of the staff. The food was amazing throughout the weekend and the falconry display was not only informative but interactive as all guests were allowed to come into contact with the birds. Chefs were great dealing with some very tricky allergy issues and then the bar staff, especially Daryll and Erin who put up with 4 people at the bar till very late.....much appreciated. Visited by chance wanting something different not too far from M74. Beautiful setting, delightful house and excellent customer service. It was mid week so very quiet but the staff made us very welcome. Excellent room not en-suite but able use adjoining shower room. Excellent bath robes in case you bumped into someone en route to the bathroom. The room had a lovely view. Enjoyed a drink in the small bar but conscious of how quiet it was felt a little background music would have helped.. dinner was excellent the same as breakfast. It is advertised as a wedding venue and is certainly the ideal place but hadn’t fully appreciated how quiet it would be mid week. Needless to say the staff were brilliant and we would do it all again.

Springkell was the first venue we visited when looking for somewhere to get married, and we soon realised it was perfect for us. As is clear from photos - Springkell House is stunning. The grounds and exteriors provide varied photo opportunities, and the rooms are beautiful. The brilliant natural atmosphere of the house meant that a few personal touches from our decorations were all we needed to make the space our own. A highlight for us were the lounges, giving our guests the opportunity to relax and chat with a drink, choosing to move to and from the music and dancing of the main room as and when they liked. This meant that each of our guests got to come together and celebrate in a way that made them feel comfortable. James, Fiona, and Jill were thoughtful and attentive throughout our engagement, whenever we had questions or needed to visit the house. On our wedding day, Jill was invaluable - her professionalism and humour make her such a calming presence. We couldn't imagine our day without her. On top of this, the food was lovely and the bedrooms were comfortable and well cared for. We cannot recommend Springkell enough, for any occasion. Thank you thank you thank you! We got married at Springkell a couple of weeks ago. A fantastic few days with friends and family that passed much too quickly. It was great to have use of the whole house, making everyone feel much more at home. During our stay the meals were delicious, with plenty to eat and catering for those with particular dietary needs. Jill and James were always on hand to help out in any way making sure that everything went smoothly. Beforehand; when doing the months of organising, Fiona was prompt to answer our many emails and always happy to find a solution that suited both ends. We would certainly recommend the stunning venue with beautiful grounds as a wedding location to remember.

The wedding day was perfect thanks to you, it ran so smoothly and was more than we had ever wished for! The house and grounds are absolutely stunning and we got some amazing photographs. Andrew and I got married here on 5th May and stayed for the bank holiday weekend. James and Fiona were great in helping us organise the day and accommodating our requests. When we arrived for the weekend we had a very warm welcome from Jill who was absolutely fantastic the whole weekend. There was nothing that was too much trouble, she was a super star and we had so many comments from people about how helpful she was. The venue itself was fantastic, the grounds and the building are unbelievable. It's great for the kids as they were able to play on the zip wire, trampoline and run around the grounds. The food was great and again nothing was too much trouble. James organised a mini highland games for the day after that was enjoyed by all. We had a fantastic weekend and our guests had nothing but positive things to say. It was everything we hoped for and more. Fiona was absolutely fantastic and dealt with 101 questions through email on the run up to the day; such a huge help espwcially when we both live so far away from the venue. On the weekend Jill was amazing nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel so relaxed and chilled out. As for the meals both on Friday and Saturday we’ve had nothing but positive feedback from guests; we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The house itself is beautiful and has something for everyone from the snug, lounge and bar it was amazing to be able to relax with just close friends and family. You won’t find anybody more accommodating, generous, and cooperative than the amazing team at Springkell House! I directed a short film here a couple of weeks ago, of which we had a 20 person film crew and 2 actors. We had a lot of demands and requirements as an eager film crew - and so kindly, James always found a way to make us have the most comfortable, easy and pleasurable time at Springkell. It's beauty and free atmosphere was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had - it is gorgeous and well looked after in every way possible. Every room has its own unique beauty, with hints to its fascinating history dotted around, we were never not taken aback at its charm and grandeur. In all my experiences, I have never had such a friendly and accommodating location to work with.

I attended a very special wedding here in November, the surroundings are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, the food is delicious and they catered really well for people with dietary requirements! But what really made it was the people. All the staff were wonderful, with particular mention to Gill who went out of her way for us, after traffic made us late - arriving after the kitchen had closed - she made sure we had a bite to eat that night, for which we were extremely grateful! As a makeup artist have added Springkell to my list of preferred suppliers on Bridebook even though I doubt I will work there very often!

I cannot fault a single thing from our wedding here on 9th December. It started with regular contact, advice and assistance from James and Fiona by email as we live Manchester way, and they gave us help with supplier names and were happy to organise many things for us. When I arrived on the Friday, gill and the rest of the springkell staff bent over backwards to make sure that we were all happy and had everything that we needed (which when you have four children under 2 is a lot to ask!). And always with a smile. The tapas meal that was cooked for all of us that night was amazing, there was so much flavour and variety and everyone raved about it (some even messaged to groom to tell him he was missing out!). The location itself is gorgeous, with lovely views from all rooms, so many family rooms and the honeymoon suite we were in was so picturesque with such a comfortable bed! Mostly, it was the staff that made our wedding as amazing as it was. I really can’t say enough good things about Gill, she’s an absolute asset to the venue and so organised and unflappable and just so lovely! Nothing was too much hassle and they were so unobtrusive. They all made us smile and feel welcome, so many people have said that it was like having a wedding at home, but a much nicer home with better views and staff! I really couldn’t recommend the place more, if it is somewhere you are looking at for your wedding, trust me, it’s one of the best decisions you could make!

Just spent a weekend here for a friends wedding. The place itself is beautiful and the surroundings are superb, very comfortable beds and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The lady in charge (Sue?) was wonderful and went above and beyond to please everyone, all the staff were polite and helpful. The food was wonderful and plentiful. The only thing stopping me from giving this review 5 stars is when the hotel owner charged £1800 to my card (on top of my room fee) for someone else’s wedding! This was obviously a mistake and was rectified, although I had to wait for two days before the money appeared back in my account and to this day I’ve never received an apology from the owner, nor any compensation, my fees I incurred were refunded to me by way of a Cheque, almost 3 weeks after the event and after I had to remind him. Not even a compliment slip in with the cheque! Really disappointed about how this was handled. Apart from that it was a lovely stay.

I can only confirm what Rory & Kharis have said that it was a fairytale wedding. Firstly James thank you for your patience with our long distance arrangements. With big families on both sides finding a place big enough for everyone was going to be a challenge. Springkell however offered us that and more. The main beautiful house & gardens were great but there was then the Huge Marquee to put all our 150 dinner guests & 220 evening guests in without feeling at all crowded. In fact there is also a good sized dance floor & behind that they made a stage for the band. So much is included that other venues don’t offer. Chair sashes, table runners, some table decorations which you can use or bring your own. Gill was great preparing the tables & sashes. Fiona with our emails, menu options etc etc There was one moment 10days before the wedding when the Marquee was damaged by the storm & James had to send it back to the manufacturers to get repaired (I didn’t think it would be back in time), but James had several men working on it the Wednesday 3 days before the wedding & did the impossible to get it up, carpets laid, new chandeliers in & Friday afternoon we were able to put in all our things. The wedding day although it rained did not stop the flow of compliments from our guests many who said it was the best wedding they had been to. Terence the food was delicious! Feeding 150 is certainly a challenge. Again lots of compliments. You have the most helpful maintenance person who was always happy to oblige to any request (sorry I always got your name wrong). Also Phoebe was really friendly and it was nice to meet her. It is very evident that James as the owner cares about trying to meet peoples expectations/requests whenever he is able to. Also everyone who stayed overnight really enjoyed it & it gave us the bonus of seeing them all at breakfast. Thank you James & Springkell for an unforgettable day.

We were impressed with the kind, friendly and helpful staff and the beautiful venue thanks to all of this we were able to have a fairytale wedding. Fantastic Wedding Weekend I recently had the privilege of getting married at this beautiful house and setting. Over the course of the weekend, we were treated to the highest level of service on all fronts – and I can’t thank James enough for this. He truly went the extra mile to ensure everything ran smoothly and all needs were catered for, and made us all feel very welcome in his house. In addition, Fiona was very helpful in the run up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, there was a most welcome guest at breakfast – Pippa – James’s delightful black Labrador, who – it must be said – had a bit of a penchant for croissants. She also helped to put my mother at ease, who had to leave our family Labrador with friends back in London. There is something very special about celebrating one’s wedding at Springkell. The house and grounds are very well maintained, and provide the perfect setting for such an occasion. Furthermore, the accommodation is of a high standard, the food is superb and the bar is very well stocked – catering for even the most discerning guest. I would also like to mention Duncan (Ireland), the brilliant photographer we met by chance on our first visit to Springkell. He did a fantastic job in capturing such an awesome wedding day – and we can’t recommend him enough. Thanks so much to James and the team – you really made it such a special wedding weekend.

Just had my daughter and son in laws wedding there on 2nd Sept and from the moment we arrived on the Friday we could not have asked for more. The staff could not do enough for us and kept there distance but were always there when needed. The whole experience was brilliant, lovely venue and the meal was beautiful as was the breakfast. We had the run of the whole house and there were several children in the company who were kept busy with PlayStation room, rocking horse and of course the trampoline outside was a hit. Super house/hotel. Wonderfully large rooms with gorgeous bed linens and quality fluffy towels. Very comfortable beds. Our room wasn't en-suite and didn't have a TV but it was absolutely fine without. Great bathrooms across the corridor and huge TV,s, DVD's etc downstairs in the lovely lounges. My only down was dinner, which wasn't good sadly. However breakfast, looking out over the beautiful grounds was excellent. Best thing of all - the staff!

Being a Toastmaster you have time to observe venues approach to events and I was impressed with the team's service and their ability to foresee their customer needs. Springkell is the most perfect wedding venue. Within seconds of arriving, we knew we wanted to get married there. Fiona and James were so amazing up to the day, answering my numerous emails and helping as much as they could to make the day run smoothly and make it personal to us. Since our arrival on the Friday, the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Gill was so excited to show us the dining room which she had decorated and laid out - it was the most beautiful room I'd ever seen. On the morning of the wedding, the staff let me have breakfast in my room with my parents which was lovely and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed all morning. Throughout the day, guests were commenting on how helpful the staff were and what a beautiful house it was. I am so glad we found Springkell - we will definitely be back for a future anniversary!

Our prom was very very well done, the venue was beautiful and amazingly decorated. It's definitely a place to have an event. The food was great and the toilets were spotless. The only thing that I could put fault to was the awful road in the way in. It was extremely bumpy and was fukk of potholes. Perhaps it could do with being redone. Also, the drinks were rather expensive. Apart from that Springkell was absolutely beautiful and I would most definitely host an event there in the future. Thank you for a lovely prom Springkell!

From the very moment the couple decided Springkell was the place for them until we left on the Sunday lunch time James and his team have been professional,helpful,supportive,encouraging and attentive. James aim is to make you feel at home in this stunning and beautiful house and grounds and we did. One guest comment related to just how relaxed the wedding was. Fiona, ( I don't think she sleeps), replies almost instantaneously to questions and nothing appeared to be a trouble to her- even sending a photo by instant return. Terence, provided excellent food that, was as good on the day as it had been at the tasting. Special diets were no problem. Jill and Mandy, provided a stunning dining room and more importantly kept me sane. Sandra and Lee, looked after us all on the day of the wedding and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you too, goes to Steve,the waiting and bar staff, the brides personal attendant and those getting all the rooms ready,if we've left anyone out we apologise. Attention to detail was second to none. We forgot candles for out side lanterns we had taken and before we could arrange them the Springkell team had noticed and they very quietly provided them without being asked. Both my husband and I got married in Springkell earlier this year. We hired the venue for two nights which gave our guests time to settle in and feel completely at home. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and venue itself. James was very easy to work with throughout the booking and planning process. We also found his PA Fiona to be extremely helpful and responsive - nothing was too much effort. The wedding was everything that we had ever hoped for and thanks to all of the staff who made sure that everything ran smoothly on the day. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone. Springkell will always have a special place in our hearts!

A fantastic venue, excellent staff team and incredible facilities. A very big mix of styles and fashions but all wrapped in a way that works. They have made good use of the many rooms available. If you're getting married or looking for a space for a small business conference without many distractions; this is where I'd head. We were here for my cousin James' wedding to Caroline and everyone has had a great time. They do say though that it's the people that make it.

My husband and I got married here at Springkell on the 20 August 2016. What an amazing day from start to finish! On booking Springkell we met James and Fiona, both who could not do enough to help us! They explained they could do as little or as much as we needed - they would even arrange flowers, photographer etc if we so wished. Fiona (PA to James) was just great on the upcoming months and weeks to the wedding. Any little query I had she would answer in a timely and helpful manner. The wedding day was just perfect from start to finish. We would not have changed a thing! James was visible and helped the wedding to run smoothly. Well what can I say about our visit with you that has not been already said !!! Without exception the Family has been loud in its praise of yourself your outstanding staff and of course of Springkell itself. We could not have found a better spot as a headquarters from which each day we travelled out to see a fair amount of Scotland and England.The residence of course is unique and its setting is wonderful. The rooms spacious and well decorated. The favourite was the Dining Room with the bar not too far behind !! The latter served as a great gathering point for those looking to simply sit and chat or perhaps to engage in the odd game of cribbage.The outdoor activities on the grounds were fun and the one day trip to play Golf certainly was a highlight for those who participated.The 31 of us all thank you and your staff for making it the memorable get together that it was.

Dave and I were married at Springkell on 29 January 2015 - what a fabulous venue for a 'white wedding' - not sure how James managed to order the snow for us too!! It was brilliant! >From the day we first went to see Springkell, James and his team could not have been more helpful - nothing was a problem! We opted for canapés, choose our own menu and evening buffet - the food was amazing! All our guests were very complimentary about both the venue and the food - in fact 'best wedding ever' was quoted on many occasions! The venue is formal, yet so homely - from the actual wedding ceremony, to the wedding reception and the evening disco - it was all so relaxed! The guests were able to mingle around the mansion house and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! We also had two Shih Tzu dogs as part of the wedding party - this was not a problem and in fact staff and guests just fell in love with them! I would certainly recommend Springkell as a wedding venue - it was just such an amazing day! Thanks to James, Fiona, Ann and all the staff - you were wonderful!

The meal was amazing, as was breakfast and our incredible BBQ (I wasn't hungry, but I wolfed it down it was so good!) and the rooms were just beautiful, we could have stayed in our suite for months! We got married here in October 2023 and the weekend was amazing. We stayed there from Friday through to Monday, with our guests leaving on the Sunday. It meant we had an incredible time, spending quality time with our guests. Because they allow dogs, the whole weekend felt incredibly relaxed. James, Fiona and Jill and ... the rest of the team really looked after us incredibly well and we left feeling elated and so incredibly grateful for an incredible weekend.This venue is definitely one to consider, as price/value is amazing.

Booked one cottage and one room in the main house. Both are very nice. The sky at night is wonderful.They really need better signage for Chauffeur cottage, it is very difficult to find in the dark.
