Upwey House is a classic country manor house comprising 6,000 square feet over two floors and dating back to the 1830s. For most of its life, the house was owned by the Gould family, who also owned much of the land surrounding Upwey and Dorchester. Since then, it’s been beautifully decorated throughout and sleep up to 24 guests.
On the First Floor there are nine characterful and luxurious bedrooms including a mix of king/double and twin beds. There are also 4 modernised bathrooms, each including a shower and bath, on the First Floor for the bedrooms to share.
For those who’d prefer to avoid the stairs, there is a bedroom on the ground floor and two WCs making it appropriate for disabled access.
Downstairs, the house incorporates a light an airy Drawing Room along with a playroom for younger guests (this is well stocked with dressing-up clothes,

Upwey House was initially sited at the bottom of the hill on Church Street and was moved to where it is now, on top of the hill, to provide the Lord of the Manor a country retreat.
