About Upwey House
Upwey House sleeps up to 24 guests across 9 characterful and luxurious bedrooms which are arranged in a configuration of double/king and twin-bedded rooms. One bedroom is on the ground floor making it appropriate for disabled access.
There are 4 modernised bathrooms (bath and shower) on the First Floor as well as two WC’s on the ground floor. The Dining Room can accommodate up to 24 seated guests and is adjoined to the open-plan kitchen with an impressive Lacanche range.
The house incorporates a light and airy Drawing Room along with a playroom for younger guests, a library/snug and a wonderful snooker room. The house appeals to all generations and dogs are very welcome. There are 3 open fires at the house.
Upwey House is situated in the delightful village of which is equidistant between Weymouth and Dorchester. The Upwey Wishing Well is a short walk away and is historically famous for its healing powers.
The area is wonderful for walking, watersports, beaches and cycling as well as for the breathtaking views of the Jurassic coastline. The area boasts excellent local pubs and eateries as well as wine-tasting and artisan shopping.
The house itself is situated in 23 acres of private rural land and includes a stream, a walled garden, paddocks, a sun terrace, gazebo and expansive lawns and fields.
Family games such croquet, badminton, cricket, football and waterslides can be enjoyed by all the family whilst less energetic types can enjoy cooking up a BBQ on the terrace or enjoy a game of scrabble in the Drawing Room.
We can arrange for a hot tub to be provided at an additional charge (just ask).
Upwey House can accommodate wedding parties of up to 160 guests across all the seasons of the year. The venue is fully licensed for legal ceremonies and works with partners to provide exquisite catering, stunning marquees and all forms of entertainment. Our wedding packages include accommodation at the house and work wonderfully well for those who want to extend their celebrations.
