Open the original stained-glass front door and you enter a grand hallway, setting the tone for your stay. There’s plenty of space for everyone to relax and socialise, whether you’re gathered around a crackling fire in the elegant dining room (seating 16) or tucked away in a cosy corner with a good book.

The large, farmhouse-style kitchen breakfast room is the heart of this house. Here, a giant four-oven Aga keeps things cosy while you cook up delicious meals for your group.

House Facts

Thomas Hardy was likely involved in the design of the house whilst he was apprenticed to a local firm of architects. Many original features including servants’ bells and an internal window still taped up from WW2 to prevent the glass shattering. House has been in the same family for 70 years.
