Talton House

While this nine-bedroom Queen Anne manor house brims with history, it’s anything but old-fashioned.

Check out the thoroughly modern natural swimming pool, the spacious hot tub, a well-equipped games room, snug room complete with HD cinema projector, AstroTurf tennis court and croquet lawn. All wrapped up in Grade II listed sophistication.

Surrounded by 34 acres of beautiful countryside, Talton House’s Queen Anne facade and beautiful and comfortable interior ooze charm and history. 

The main house comfortably sleeps 22 lucky guests, in nine comfortably furnished bedrooms (five have ensuites), four of which are big enough to be family rooms with extra beds. For hosting and happy times, there is a well-equipped kitchen and a large dining room that can seat 20 around the table. There is also a large sitting room, garden room bar, and enormous hall. 

As for the grounds, you are surrounded by 34 acres of flower meadows, woodland, orchards, and bordered by the River Stour.

Talton House is all set up for a luxurious but relaxed getaway, right in the centre of the UK, making it ideal for everyone to get to, and ideal for that family gathering, or long-awaited party.

About the location

Hidden away in the heart of Shakespeare country, on the edge of the Cotswolds, Talton House is just an hour from Birmingham, and two from Central London. 

The nearest train stations are Moreton-in Marsh from London Paddington, and Stratford-Upon-Avon from London Marylebone or Birmingham. 

Local buses also run regularly from Stratford, stopping at the bus stop at the turning to Talton Mill café and butchery on the A3400. 

Things to do

Alongside the famed Cotswold walks and pubs to enjoy, local tourist hot spots include Stratford-Upon-Avon, famous for its theatres as well as Shakespeare’s birthplace, Mary Arden’s house and Ann Hathaway’s cottage.

Kiftsgate Court Gardens offers beautiful panoramic gardens with dramatic views on a steep hillside landscape, and Warwick Castle is perfect for guests of all ages, featuring waxworks, archery demonstrations and mock battles in large grounds and ramparts.

Weddings

While we do not have a marriage licence for the formalities, there are many nearby register offices. Many of Talton House’s guests have not let formalities stand in their way, taking full advantage of our wedding facilities to create truly memorable occasions for bride, groom and well-wishers. You get Talton exclusively for two and a half days, so there’s plenty of time to put your own spin on things too.

The Queen Anne Manor House, in tandem with the festival atmosphere of the walled Kitchen Garden, makes for a magical, very special setting. The Glasto vibe comes courtesy of the two giant tipis that seat up to 80 comfortably. There’s also a pavilion bar with full or part BYO options including beer, lager and cider on tap. Cheers!
