Duredon is a remote country house, high up on Exmoor, in the middle of an organic farming estate. The house is entirely new, having been built from scratch between 2019 and 2022. Suitable for 16-18 people.

Duredon can accommodate a large marquee for up to 300 people, with parking and accommodation for up to 18 of the party on site. We are not licensed but work with Simonsbath Church where ceremonies can be held.

Duredon is a remote country house in a magical moorland setting, with spectacular views. The house is set at the end of a long private drive in the midst of the Simonsbath Estate. Despite appearances, the house is entirely new, having been built from scratch between 2019-2022, on the site of a previous house. As a result, the house has underfloor heating, superb water pressure, Sonos, high speed fibre broadband, a commercial kitchen and is thoroughly modern in its conveniences. But it also has beautiful pictures and furniture, is stylishly decorated and extremely comfortable.

There are 9 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms – 6 in the main house and 3 in the stables across the yard. The dining table seats 16, so the house works well with 16 guests and 2 staff. There is a private airstrip,

House Facts

The present house is brand new but the old house was one of 12 model farmhouses on the estate built by the Victorian farming pioneer, John Knight. Duredon was the only dairy farm on the estate because of its sunny, south facing aspect.
