Lovely and beautiful setting. So peaceful. Walks all over the place. The house itself is fully equipped, rooms are basic but clean. Few en suites and 2 x family bathrooms. Big outside seating area which is nice for big groups.

Lovely place, had everything we needed including a nice view and dog friendly, fairly good amount of parking available. Downside being no mobile phone signal and when we stayed the phone line was dead. Plenty in the area to keep you busy.

Great big house, perfect for a large family gathering. Beautiful location. Being truthful the building is a bit tired but it's around 2k cheaper than similarly sized accommodation in the area, so perfectly acceptable. Kitchen was well equipped, house was clean. Plenty of room in the bins for rubbish. Access is down a single track road, but ... it's fine can easily get a LWB transit or Transporter down there. Usefully came with dish cloths, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and bog roll. Lovely walking along the river and in the woods behind the house. No mobile signal, which isn't a surprise due to the location and internet is a bit slow but fine for streaming Netflix. Would rather spend time having fun with the people there, than be on the internet all weekend so not a problem.

This house is in a WONDERFUL location, the backdrop is truly stunning. However the house is dated and could do with some investment, especially for the rates they charge for hire (even the neighbor asked if we were going to give it a paint). It really could be a 4/5 star holiday let with a little ... love. The hot tub wasn't available until the evening of the second night, which was disappointing as it's a feature I am sure is cooperated into the fees. It wasn't the cleanest house, there was a considerable amount of dust in the rooms and grease in the kitchen. The dust became a problem with one member of our group who has Asthma. Some of the rooms had no toilet paper, and there were no spares in the house. This was annoying, as it's a remote location and we had to drive to go and get some. There are some lights in this house in the communal areas that don't seem to turn off. This was a hindrance to peoples rest, as rooms have windows directly onto these areas. A lot of our guests unfortunately didn't sleep very well. Not a lot of thought has gone into some of the features of the property, in our room the toilet roll holder was on the door, miles away from the toilet. It was odd. There is no wifi apart from in the hallway downstairs, could be an idea to invest in some routers to extend this to other areas of the house. If you're looking to rent this property, here's some advice I would have found useful: Take your own towels - they seemed to have a problem washing the ones supplied. Take your own toilet paper. The owner is an estate agent (the house is covered in notices stating deposits will be lost etc etc, they seem to throw every trick in the book at you) Book a slot to take rubbish to the dump in Monmouth - there is limited bin capacity, especially for a house of 21 people. It would be a better idea to book in a slot at the dump on the day of your departure and get rid of excess rubbish this way. Take an eye-mask. If dust/cleanliness is a big factor for you, prepare to do some cleaning on arrival.
