Stainsborough Hall

Stainsborough Hall is part of the Stainsborough Hall Estate, and has been recently renovated. The house is perfectly presented as a holiday home for a group of family and friends.

There are ten bedrooms for up to twenty guests. The bedrooms are on the first and second floors of the house, and include a family suite, with a king-sized bed and two singles. There are four bedrooms overall with two single beds, the rest of the rooms have king-sized beds, or there’s one mighty Emperor, for those who like to sprawl.

The bedrooms share six bathrooms, three on each floor. There are also two cloakroom loos on the ground floor.

Downstairs, there are four reception rooms, plus a glass-house kitchen, which opens onto the terraced garden. Across the corridor from the kitchen is a utility and boot room, for washing and drying off all the out-door adventurers’ clobber.

The dining room (which seats twenty on two tables of ten), is just off the kitchen. There’s also a large drawing room (with a grand piano), and a smaller television room. The house’s own games room is to the back of the house, and has a fun pub-sized pool table, for intense competition.   

Outside the house, there is a private garden with a barbecue and seating, and a hot tub available at additional cost. The house shares a larger games room (with table tennis) with the holiday cottages on site, and an all-weather tennis court. There’s also a children’s play area.

About the Location

The house is very close to Carsington Water, in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales.  The nearest main-line train station is Matlock, which 6 miles away.

Things To Do

The nearest pub is the Miners Arms, which serves an excellent Bakewell Tart.

Carsington Water offers lots to do – there’s great cycling, walking, and water sports.  Local attractions include Chatsworth House, Heights of Abraham, Haddon Hall, Crich Tramway museum – the Dales really is an area with lots to do.

The Holiday Cottages

There are five holiday cottages on the estate, sleeping between 3 and 6, accommodating 23 guests in total. Dogs are welcome in the cottages, but not in the main house.
