Great Oak Park
Great Oak Park, Abinger, Dorking RH5 6HZ
A beautiful country estate comprising a large Gothic style house (5000 sq ft) with a commanding hill top setting (views 360) degrees). Set in 5 acres of park-like grounds and a further 15 acres of paddocks and is approached by a 1 km private driveway and all one hour from London by either train or car (15 mins from junction 9 of M25). A fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion or hold a private business meeting.
A superb reception hall leads onto a large contemporary living room and a dining room with comfortable seating for 16, a well-equipped kitchen and a sunny breakfast room. There is a 900 sq ft dance studio with mirrors, laser and disco lights (even a disco ball), sound system and 9 ft cinema screen.
There are 8 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super king bed and a dressing room and ensuite bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and power shower. The guest suite has a king-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower over it. There are another three bedrooms on this first floor with double beds and one twin bedroom, these bedrooms share a family bathroom with a bath and power shower. On the second floor is a room with a double bed and another bedroom with twin beds, these share a shower room.
Within the grounds is a beautiful large York Stone south facing terrace with gorgeous views leading onto a stunning (50 ft long) swimming pool with a diving board (slide closed for children’s safety). Enjoy a hot tub with LED lights and waterfall overlooking fabulous views and a new Finnish pine sauna/steam room (an Isauna!) with soothing fibre optic lights. There is a gas BBQ provided with gas and tools. The tennis court is fine for a knockabout, not Wimbledon standard though! Catering can be arranged as can housekeeping at extra cost.
The house is close to Leith Hill the highest point in Surrey and host to the Prudential Ride every year, and also Box Hill where the cycling Olympics were held – so you don’t get better cycling. The walking is stunning and Denbies Vineyard is definitely worth a visit.
