About The Copse
The Copse is a glorious house high in the Chiltern Hills and close to Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. It is oak framed and its wood cladding has turned silver grey. Set in 22 acres, it overlooks its own pond and stream with views into the distance of mixed woodland and wildflower meadows.
It is peaceful with no passing traffic or aircraft noise which is so unusual for a property just 40 minutes from London by train and 40 minutes from Heathrow airport by car.
Guests love the privacy, space and numerous quiet corners. We love the gardens which are fabulous at every season and everyone enjoys the hot tub, table tennis, pool table, huge dedicated cinema room in green plush velvet with a giant screen, and a unique, cosy barbecue hut that seats everyone.
A great addition to the two kitchens that have masses of fridge space, an electric oven, microwave and 4 oven Aga, is the outdoor BBQ terrace facing the pond.
Masses of indoor space for everyone to gather to eat, either in the kitchen diner on the terrace or the more formal dining room. Better still, set the barn space for a seated dinner for up to 40 and have a wonderful catered birthday.
We can leave you alone to cook from local ingredients that can be delivered to the door or walk five minutes across the fields to the local pub. Great and truly brilliant local chefs can also come and cater for you in-house.. just ask.
Bedrooms have as many super king beds as we can fit and as many en-suite bathrooms so everyone is really comfortable and can have their own section of the house. Briefly, there are nine bedrooms and six bathrooms. Seven bedrooms are in the house and two are across the courtyard (great for teenagers!).
Please contact us for further information and wedding costs as the hire of Wedding spaces and equipment is in addition to the hire of the house and varies from £1,500 to £12,000 depending on dates and guest numbers. VAT included in these rates.
