Oxon Hoath is a very private house on its own estate. It’s a splendid place for weddings,It is also an excellent place for a mid-week break, family holiday or reunion with friends.

The house is also suitable for business use; the events team often hold conferences or product launches, and are practised at hosting corporate days.

Accommodation at Oxon Hoath is generous – the house sleeps up to 50 guests in 28 bedrooms.  The reception rooms are large and impressive, and include a large, flexible ‘Conference’ room (complete with the original Georgian coving and polished oak floor), a well-lit dance studio and oak-panelled  library.

This lovely big house sits in 73 acres of park land, reached down a quarter-mile carriage drive. The park includes exotic trees and romantic gardens with sweeping lawns. It also has deep woodland with hidden dells, and a sculptured lake (which echoes the naturalistic style of  Capability Brown).

There are beautiful views from most bedrooms, over the rolling Weald of Kent.

Edmund’s Choice of Extraordinary Feature

Oxon Hoath’s stand-out feature for me has to be its walled kitchen garden – one of the largest original walled-gardens in the South East. The garden has been under a restoration project for over five years, and the vegetables, flowers and fruit grown within its walls are organic. The produce is used by the kitchens at Oxon Hoath, and guests can also buy surplus fruit and vegentables to take home.

About The Location

The estate is very close to London, being just 20 minutes from the M20 and M25.  The town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is nearby, and the historic Canterbury Cathedral is under an hour’s drive away. The Kent Downs are accessible for walks or cycling.

Things To Do

There is lots to do on the estate, as Oxon Hoath are practised at running corporate days and specialist retreats (there is a retreat coordinator on site). Please contact the team for further details.

House History

Oxon Hoath was originally built in the 1400's by Sir John Culpepper, a Knight of King Henry V, as a royal park for the Kingdom's oxen and deer. Over the centuries, the Oxon Hoath Estate has been the ancestral family home to eleven Knights of the Realm, many of whom enhanced both the house and the grounds in a variety of classical architectural styles.
