Downstairs, there is a large open-plan kitchen with an Aga, and a breakfast table for eight, set in front of the windows. The kitchen leads into a light-filled drawing room, which has an open fire and lots of squashy velvet sofas. The dining room is beyond the hall, and easily sits up to 18 guests.
The house is surrounded by grass lawns, and each window offers a view of Somerset countryside. There is a sunken garden for sheltered sun bathing, a hot tub and a huge terrace, for alfresco dining.
Should you have an extra two guests, or would like somewhere extra special for two of your guests to stay, there is an extraordinary tree house over the fields (booked separately). It’s built around an English oak tree, and has a wood-burning stove and a copper-lined slipper bath set in front of one of its windows.
Edmund’s Choice of Extraordinary Feature
“This house is immaculately presented, with lots of little details considered (like the capacious wine fridge). A beautiful house, for the best of country weekends.”
