Durstone Cottage is a beautifully restored rural retreat for up to 22 guests on the outskirts of the pretty village of Pencombe in North Hertfordshire.
Originally two separate farm cottages, they are now interconnected to give groups flexibility with two fully equipped kitchens for eating together in the large communal dining room or in the two separate living rooms with an open log fire, comfy sofas and TVs.
The dining area can seat up to 22 people and is accessible through both kitchens.
Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms (twin and super king) plus downstair toilets and shower room for those who’d prefer to avoid the stairs.
Heading upstairs are the remaining 7 bedrooms comprising a mixture of doubles, bunk and twin beds, with an additional en-suite attached to one of the double rooms.

We had a really lovely stay at Cowarne Court. There were 10 of f us gathering to celebrate a 40th birthday and the cottage was absolutely fantastic for this. It’s a really well kept property with a nice bit of garden space for our dogs to run amok in and have fun. Plenty of nice walks nearby, along with the Three Horseshoes pub who served us an excellent meal.Sarah was a fantastic host, really great with contact. We couldn’t recommend this accommodation enough. Thankyou Sarah!

Great cottages for groups. These are 2 joined cottages which you can hire together and open up into one large house. There is space all round the house and several BBQs, as well as a games room with pool and table tennis tables (free) as well as table football (50p). The kitchens are well equipped and we arranged a supermarket food delivery for when we arrived. The cottages are off the main road up a well maintained farm track, our low car was fine with it in the summer though I imagine it may be a little tricky in the winter if very muddy. Cottages had lots of space, and are in beautiful countryside, recommended for big groups.

Lovely cottages very comfy rooms and nice living room and kitchen area. Games room is fun would be nice if the table football didn't want 20p ;)

Staying at the Cultural Heritage Inn was a journey through time and culture. The inn was adorned with fascinating artifacts and artwork that told a story of the region's rich history. Our room was comfortable and filled with character. The innkeepers were knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the local heritage. Its central location made it ... easy to immerse ourselves in the cultural experiences of the area. A unique and enriching stay.
