Barton Court is a graceful Georgian country house with much earlier roots. It sits proudly in 6 acres of grounds with far-reaching views over three counties. Private, behind high walls and hedges, it is not isolated being on the edge of a village that has direct train connections to London and Birmingham while the motorway network is just 3 miles away.
The main house sleeps up to 24 in 10 bedrooms with 9 bathrooms [8 ensuite] and 3 loos. All the rooms have been individually designed and include hotel quality bathrooms. The drawing room, dominated by a magnificent 18th century plaster ceiling seats the whole party in great comfort. If you want to peel off in a smaller group the library is a cosy room to read, watch TV or chat. Up to 40 can dit down to eat in the dining room and the newly installed kitchen is well equipped for catering in large numbers.
Barton Court is on the borders of Herefordshire and Worcestershire and so within easy striking range of all that these counties – and Gloucestershire which is visible from the main bedrooms – have to offer. Herefordshire is becoming revered for its food, both produce and restaurants. It also boasts more listed buildings than any other county so there is a great deal of history to explore. Worcestershire is more vibrant in tone. Again, it teems with history but it also has an entrepreneurial youthful streak evident in the number of clubs, restaurants and pop-ups that abound.
On the doorstep, you will find all of the obvious country pursuits of riding, shooting etc combined with splendid walking over the Malvern Hills.
