Hatch House is the rump of an historic 17th Century manor house, home of the Hyde family (Anne Hyde was the mother of Queens Mary & Anne). It was rebuilt and aggrandised by the Arts & Crafts architect Detmar Blow in 1908. It has a fine two-tier Dutch (walled) garden with spectacular views over the Vale of Wardour and the West Wiltshire downs. The Dutch Garden itself and surrounding lawns form a grand suite of theatrical ‘outdoor rooms’ against the magical facade of the house. Here we have ample space for marquees & tents, so that up to 200 guests can be entertained in style, to dining, dancing, etc.
The elegant pavilion in the Dutch Garden is licensed to perform weddings/civil partnership ceremonies, so the complete event can be held in one place… always an advantage for guests.
