Plas Dinam

Plas Dinam is a Victorian country manor, sleeping 44 guests in flexible accommodation. It’s very much a family home, and ideal for large family celebrations, or weddings. The main house sleeps 34, with a further 6 possible in the Lodge and 4 in the Chauffeur’s Loft.

It’s also an ideal house for parties of walkers, cyclists and sport enthusiasts – Wales is renown for its outdoor pursuits, and Plas Dinam makes an ideal base.

The house has 15 bedrooms with 10 bathrooms, some of which are en-suite. The bedrooms including a family suite, which has a double bedroom and two further bedrooms leading from it (and with its own bathroom). Most of the (king-size) double beds can be converted to singles, if necessary.

Downstairs, there is the dining hall, which is double-height and seats up to 60 (or 34 on one long table, if you prefer). There is also a small dining table (seating 8) in the bay window of the wood-panelled sitting room, or you can eat in the large, airy kitchen, which sits up to 10.

For relaxing after a vigorous day, there is the drawing-room and the library, both with gorgeous views over the garden. Should you wish to be distracted (or your children distracted), there is a TV room with a large television, Xbox and Blue Ray Player; a playroom, stuffed with toys (and an outstanding dressing-up box), and a sunroom (with another dining table).

For any guests that feel competitive, there is a panelled billiard room, with a huge fireplace and billiard table. If you’d like to play something a bit more frenetic, there’s a table tennis room, ideal for day-long leagues and competitions.

The gardens as Plas Dinam are well-kept and brilliant to explore. There are terraces and lawns to the rear of the house that catch the sun, and you can fire up the huge gas barbeque, or use the under-cover pizza oven. There are lots of outdoor games to play: giant versions of Jenga, Noughts and Crosses and a normal-sized (happily) version of croquet.

There is a kennel for your dogs, and stabling for up 5 horses.

About The Location

Plas Dinam is in the Llandinam hills, in mid-Wales, and can be reached by the A470, about 36 miles from Shrewsbury. The nearest train station is Caersws Station, which is 2 miles from Plas Dinam. Caersws has direct trains from Birmingham and Shrewsbury.

Things To Do

There is a great choice of things to do in the area; walking, horse riding, fishing, game shooting, clay shooting, trail hunting, mountain biking (free-riding), sailing, kite surfing, and golf. The owners can arrange any activity you choose, plus transport if necessary.

Weddings

Plas Dinam might have been built with a big family country wedding in mind. The house holds two licenses, one for the drawing room (sitting up to 60), or the Hall, which seats up to 100. Alternatively, you can have an outdoor ceremony, in front of the house.

There is both a church (St. Llonio’s) and a chapel in the nearby village.

For the reception, there is the newly-renovated Victorian Stables (which is fully covered and seats 150), or a marquee on the lawn.
