Photographs and General Information

The Clockhouse was built in 1827, and shares the same elegance of proportion – and quality of architecture and execution – as the main house. The building was originally used as the coach house, and its dominating feature is the Bell and Clock Tower, which faces the heavy wrought iron entrance gates.

The Barn is an earlier building, dating from around the late 1700’s. It was built as a threshing barn, and retains its original oak timber frame, protected by blackened weather boards.

The Clockhouse and Barn can be hired for holidays as one house (sleeping 14), or as separate houses (sleeping 8 and 6 respectively). The whole of the Sibton Park Estate has just undergone total renovation, and work at the Clockhouse and Barn has been completed with family holidays or parties of friends in mind.

There is a shared courtyard with parking for up to 7 cars, and each property has its own terrace and gardens.

The Clockhouse

There are 4 en-suite, double bedrooms; three of which are in one wing, and the fourth in a wing beyond the reception rooms. The reception rooms include an elegant sash-windowed drawing room (complete with an open fire), and a dining room with a table to seat 8. The reception rooms are connected to the open-plan kitchen and living space by concertinaed doors, allowing you to open one big space, should you wish.

The Barn

The Barn has been converted from a traditional timber-framed Suffolk barn, and has a vaulted kitchen with a dining table at one end. The kitchen has full height glazed doors that lead down to an East-facing terrace (perfect for breakfast). All 3 bedrooms are double (en-suite) and on ground level (although the master bedroom is on a split level). The master bedroom has French doors leading to a private courtyard garden. There is also a dramatic drawing room on the first floor, and a garden room with views across the open parkland.

About Sibton Park Estate

The  estate rolls over 350 acres of private woodland and parkland, and is bordered by the romantic ruins of  a Cistercian Abbey.  There is a huge amount to do both on and off the estate; Sibton is renown for its game shooting, and there is also course fishing, golf and clay (or skeet) shooting. There are also some lovely walks on the estate; particularly one leading into Sibton itself, with its award-winning pub, The White Horse.

Sibton lies between Peasenhall and Yoxford on the old Roman Road, deep in the Yox Valley (part of the Garden of Suffolk). It is 7 miles from the Heritage Coast, particularly  Minsmere (used by the RSPB for studying  rare birds).  There are trails for horse riding, cycling and trekking. For spas or shopping, Ipswich and Norwich are within easy reach, or Cambridge is over the border.

The Clockhouse and Barn are suitable for family parties, reunions of friends, sporting breaks, holidays and weekend breaks. Staff (including catering) can be arranged at extra cost.
