The main part of the house was built in 1550 containing a Great Hall of which the fine timber roof dating between 1420 and 1470 can be seen in the Roof Chamber. An Elizabethan Long Gallery was added early in the C17 forming a unique courtyard. With statues of Henry VIII and his three monarch offspring on each side it was described as one of the treasures of Devon by Sir Simon Jenkins in his book 'England's Thousand Best Houses'. Surrounded by magnificent gardens and medieval fishponds, Cadhay is ideal for a family gathering or a wedding.
